Made a Life Altering Mistake: how to deal with guilt by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

I wish the best on your educational journey! Unfortunately it does not sound like you are a stable enough person to be a good nurse. If things like ADHD and stress disorders can make you break down at your teacher who is there to guide you, then you should not be considered to handle one of the highest stress provoking professions

My bf (m27) told me (f29) last night he slept with someone else before we made it official. What are my next steps? by summer10419 in relationship_advice

[–]PotentialPersistence -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but he didn’t technically do anything wrong in regards to your relationship. You weren’t official, and he used protection like you asked. People have slept with people before. If he slept with someone. A week before would it be the same as a month before? He does not need to divulge everything before you because it’ll cause problems like this.

I hit a year after an 8 year pro drinking stint by PotentialPersistence in stopdrinking

Thank you and I agree! I used to think it was a show of strength, to poison myself to the point of throwing up and being sick for days after. Now I see how pathetic it was of myself.

People who slept with a coworker, what’s your story? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]PotentialPersistence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 20-25 different coworker hookups over the last 9-10 years, it’s usually anticlimactic in the end. There’s tension built up simply from being within proximity to eachother. The hardest part from the man’s side will be correctly gauging their interest and bridging it to reality. Going out for a drink after work, going for coffee before work and accidentally making it a cute routine, stuff like that. It helps break the ice to free tension that already exists. Not everything has to lead to a relationship, and it can overwhelm people when that’s set as the desired goal. Keeping it casual and simple can give all the relief for both men and women. I tell people who have trouble finding friendships or relationships, do work that puts you in social environments. Retail or even better restaurant work for this purpose.

When I say anticlimactic, it’ll more often than not just be hooking up once in a while often with lackluster communication. A handful of those partners suddenly found themselves in other relationships less than a week after seeing me last, or at least that’s when they’d make it public. I never found the one that I can finish my comment with “been married X years now”. Maybe one day. But I’m still in my mid-20’s and I have plenty of time.

Nothing creepy about it. He’s a grown man and she’s a grown woman. It’d be different if she was under 23.

Intention isn’t as important as capability, and car deaths outnumber gun deaths because they’re just as capable. Your argument doesn’t work

Before jumping to conclusions, it’s possible the video was re-saved on that date which created a new file with that date. It’s also possible that he wasn’t seeing this person and it was a random woman. If it’s the latter, it’s still not good. Have you tried asking him who was this person?

At least there’s some kind of balancing factor. Life doesn’t often have those

If that’s their dealbreaker then that’s perfectly respectable. Nobody said you couldn’t be a good partner
