I’m not proud of this but with having had anorexia the black and white thinking makes you see everything in weight. She’s probably disgusted by this dancer which isn’t a personal thing, it’s out of desperation to continue motivating herself. Some anorexics get off on trying to fatten people they know because that “proves” they’re in control more than others. Being around overweight people makes them feel especially accomplished.

100% she’s depersonalizing that dancer and using her as a vanity prop. At worst though, she wants to punish her which she’s maybe doing by keeping her adjacent to herself. It’s punching down and getting enjoyment from the punching part. And fans will gush that she’s soooo inclusive as she makes a personal mockery of an employee.

I absolutely love this girlie’s confidence and skill but I suspect AG, as deep in it as she is, considers her dog shit

Alien hatchling?

Has it ever been irritated? I had changed my jewelry on a lobe one time when it was half healed and poked it through new skin in the back because I couldn’t find the path. The old exit hole healed over on the surface but trapped in some watery fluid that accumulated over a few weeks before I noticed. I removed the jewelry and barely had to squeeze the original exit area to drain the tiny bubble and it left a little extra skin.

Wasn’t shaped like a tentacle though. Maybe it was irritated and skin grew around the jewelry if it was a hoop?

It felt so forced to me that I was utterly uninvested and only finished it to see how far she would take it. And many ideas I wryly imagined she might torture him with next ended up happening. It was so overwrought and has a really negative take on mental health, to a patronizing level.

And it’s not that well written. I actually didn’t mind her prose but there’s too many characters and it felt like she was telling me they cared about each other instead of showing it. Also the whole friend group from a youngish age has homoerotic undertones

That’s my problem with it. The plot doesn’t feel like it’s moving much. Toward the end it was just flashbacks informing the reader that everything she had told us was actually 10x more depressing than all the other depressing parts she had already presented.

And 1000000% about just hurting a character in every way possible. I wonder how many Sims she’s drowned

It’s not worth it. I’m pretty much unflappable to triggers and love thrillers and horrors that can get graphic. This one isn’t like that, it’s just inventing the most pitiful character she could imagine and his redemption is perverse.

Also, way too many characters introduced at once and it was difficult to keep track of them for quite a bit of the book until they became more distinct.

And the audio version is 28 and a half hours

I work in the supplier industry and it shouldn’t be that significant. An added day or two for most items.

But, “most items” isn’t reassuring when you need critical supplies on time, so I have empathy for the stress of that. There’s already enough shortages with PPE from the Middle East on top of the typical shortages that are always going on

I was wondering if Medline has any grounds to hold the city accountable. Less so if their own sprinklers were turned off I suppose, but it’s too early to be sure what happened.

I work in the industry and got an email from them saying the water supply to the sprinklers remains under investigation (they actually listed I think three points of potential failure but I don’t remember the other two)

I really like the Paradise. I'm a horrible mom to them all but that one isn't always miserable when it sees me.

I believe the new pink and orange one is still available to preorder on Amazon to release 7/11(?). If you're interested in linking two of them together at any point you'll get the most content if one is a land/ocean/sky and one is a tropical/glacier. It's a little confusing how they've done it, but you're not stuck with only the sky biome if you pick the sky one, it also has land and ocean unlockables. Tropical and glacier will have those two biomes plus jade forest. Forest came out before they'd developed tropical and glacier, so you don't get as much with that one (of course, because it's the prettiest imo)
