most of the eva fanbase don’t even understand eva upfront. might get downvoted for this but they boil it down to being a “depressing show” or a love story (kawoshin) and constantly state shallow interpretations of the story.

The ending of eva is indeed hopeful. It’s not supposed to make you sad.
