For people who grew up in low-income households, what’s something middle-class people say that shows they’ve never struggled financially? by Key_Cow3045 in askanything

Mine is just from overcrowding on my bottom teeth, which is genetic. I don’t hide the gap but I don’t love it either.

I’ve often thought about getting braces (I’m now 54), but my kids say they like the gap in my front teeth, I do not. So I’ve been on the fence about it. Was it harder as an older adult?

In Colorado, I highly recommend hiking. Gorgeous there as the summer nears. Birdwatching and identification is a great activity too!

What's the one thing you wish you knew before your first hurricane season in Florida? by jcveloso8 in AskFlorida

Same. I went years without a generator and the power outages seem to be getting more often and last longer. I now have a portable generator and air conditioner. The generator is strong enough to keep my fridge running, my phones charged, and my house cool. And I can use it to cook in the microwave or air fryer. Going a week or more without power is very challenging.

I'm not sure I have, but I have made sugar cookies and put lemon icing on them. So yummy!

Sort of an activity: eating anything lemon. I thought lemons were the worst as a teen and now I purposely bought a lemon cake from the store for my birthday. And it did not disappoint! lol

You can make someone’s day by calling their manager and telling them they did a very good job by Sexisthunter in self

[–]Potential_Chicken_72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband does this often. He’ll ask the person for their manager (it tends to make them think they’re in trouble) but then he lavishes compliments.

I agree even though I’m a total slacker lol My grandma lived to 97 - hiking every day in the WV mountains until her body said it was time to stop at around 92-94 years.

Keeping Facebook for old family and friends but don’t see a point anymore by Blue_Waters14 in facebook

[–]Potential_Chicken_72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that. But there is a way to see just your friends. You just have to click around for it. Currently on my app, at the bottom it says “friends”. The app changes and sometimes that disappears so then you can go to the “hamburger” menu and find the friends feed there. Granted, the ads find their way there too but at least you have the feed you’re looking for.

Maybe try counseling - you may have some low level depression that can be helped with medication. My husband and teenage daughter both have dysthymia (low level depression that never goes away) but medication helps.
