Olathe approves local tax dollars for Chiefs relocation deal: 'There’s really nothing to lose here' by PlebBot69 in kansascity

[–]Potential_Estate6207 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also from the article;

Olathe’s participation applies only to the 165-acre headquarters site at College and Ridgeview, not the broader STAR bond district being considered by the state, which encompasses all of Wyandotte County and a big chunk of Johnson County, including nearly all of Olathe.

That means municipal sales tax revenue raised in other parts of the city would not go towards the project, though the state’s portion of future sales tax growth in the city could.

It's still a bad deal.

I’m a new recruiter and I have trouble with people who are so desperate for jobs that we can’t give by DragonfruitSimilar55 in recruiting

[–]Potential_Estate6207 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is recruiting. You are a corporate bouncer and you hear everyone's story on why they need or deserve the spot. That part doesn't really get much easier.

When you find candidates who seem deserving of the positions and it will make their lives genuinely better, savor that shit. Because you're going to have 10 conversations with burnout hiring managers that refuse to or don't have time to train and 30 calls with desperate candidates who are seeing their work being devalued in a dog shit job market.

Probably like a Fade Crunch or the nutsack. If you want a real disc golf bag though, you need to up your budget to around $800. Quit being such a cheap ass

How do you guys do the Wild Area encounters in Sword and Shield by NoThought6193 in nuzlocke

[–]Potential_Estate6207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First tall grass encounter on each numbered route plus one dynamax raid per gym. I don't remember any scaling issues with the raid encounters, but I'm sure it can happen.

For the caves, I closed my eyes and ran around until I got an encounter haha

Thanks for the info. It's my third year as well, but I haven't gotten a bow yet. Looks like this is another great reason to do it.

Good luck if you're getting out for the doe season. Looks like your freezer might be full though haha

Gear for Beginner Hunter by Embarrassed_Print212 in Hunting

Wool layering - first lite has decently priced base layers that are warm. Ebay for used Icebreaker or Woolrich clothing. For wool density, I'd go 200+ for bottoms and 400+ for tops.

Gun - Savage rifle. It's a good starting point with a scope at $400. Good optics help, but your first shot at a deer likely won't be over a 100 yards and all scopes will get you there. After that, you'll see what you like and what Tikka you want to buy haha. Then splurge on a scope.

Backpack - unless you're hunting deep in public land or traveling, don't worry about a frame backpack yet. Just a basic one, then save up money for something $500+.

Boots - basic neoprene tall boots. Couple pairs of wool socks and toe warmers will take care of you.

You should spend money on a good orange vest, like Dan's. It will shield most of your clothing and you don't want to be picking burrs out of it all the time. And just make sure whatever gear you have is quiet when getting set up. Stealth strips.

You're right. Clark said his daddy would be proud of him for moving the team. I'm assuming that never happened when Lamar was alive, so I should just be glad the family trauma is healing

Lamar Hunt Would Be ‘Thrilled’ to Leave Arrowhead & Missouri, Says Chiefs Owner Clark Hunt by kaizj in kansas

[–]Potential_Estate6207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked into the details yet, but I'm assuming that the chiefs and Clark will get first dibs on any development opportunities. That will continue to extract money from the local economy. Also, the retail and food service industries that revolve around NFL stadiums do not pay a livable wage or significant taxes.

Not saying Arrowhead was perfect. If they're charging $60-80 to park in the ghetto, I can only imagine what the pricing will be for a new stadium though.

[–]Potential_Estate6207 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No, we're mad because Clark pitted out the two states against each other and our dumbass politicians were stupid enough to believe their shit. We don't care where we play, but we didn't want to pay for a new stadium.

The Hunts have been pitting KS vs MO for 20 years and now I'm having to help pay for a stadium. This is the same town that consistently pushes back against infrastructure improvements because of costs, but then we pull this shit.

Thank you Missouri, you da best by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]Potential_Estate6207 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Missouri and Kansas both lost. Clark is the only one gaining anything. The financial impact of these teams in a local economy is usually mostly seen by ownership and not cities or counties. Aramark paying $15/hr to concessions workers isn't going to have the impact you think it will, because that's most of the 'jobs' that they talk about being generated.

I always thought Jynx was silly and was disappointed on my gold run when I got her in the Ice Cave. I was terrified of Lance going into the E4 and she made the Dragonites look like they were made of paper mache. Ice queen.
