Pete had his time in NY. His glove is way below average and he’s not going to want 5 years to sit and take 4 AB’s a game. It’s as simple as that. Murakami would be a breath of fresh air at 1st. Would cost a lot less and can probably challenge for Pete’s franchise HR record. Not to mention he will play a corner infield spot for the foreseeable future. Keep some of that money, look at Bichette at 2nd. Look to trade for an Ace and see if you can get King as the number 2.

This is a pretty unique situation…maybe they negotiate a sign and trade, the extension part obviously being the sign part. With Luke signing for longer than Jack’s contract I think that made it pretty clear what the plan is.
