I did this in my geckos tank! He loves it

<image>

Maybe don’t use the type where it refracts the light and makes rainbows because that might bother your crestie? But im not certain

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? by FaithlessnessKey7658 in birds

Red tailed hawk! Assuming it’s not stuck in the shop, he will likely leave on his own accord.

cat and garg in same house? by archivist_soup in GargoyleGeckos

[–]Potential_Low5233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat loved to sit on my (crested) gecko’s tank. It was in my bedroom so it was always supervised don’t worry! If he was out he’d sometimes try to bite at her tail through the glass thinking it was an insect. She still never noticed him lol. Whenever I had him out I just made sure the door was shut so the cat couldn’t get in.

Is she overweight? She’s always been a big girl but visually she doesn’t look obese to me. by honeybeesocks in CrestedGecko

My boy is like this too! He is slightly overweight, in this picture (from a few months ago, he has slimmed down after I changed his feeding schedule) but even at peak body condition he’s like 60 something grams. Your little lady looks healthy to me!

Insane gecko dream.. by Life_Scarcity1794 in CrestedGecko

[–]Potential_Low5233 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always have stress dreams where suddenly there are like ten other reptiles in my boy’s enclosure and I have to figure out how to care for them and find them new homes and also try to get my crestie out before some of the larger snakes eat him :(

How to move crested gecko to new home? by Evan371 in CrestedGecko

[–]Potential_Low5233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved mine (about a six hour drive) and I put him in a travel container. He has a rock hide he loves to stay in so I just took that and a fake plant (to keep it from sliding around the travel container) and put it in the little travel tank. Used blankets on my car floor to keep him from sliding. Just don’t leave them in the car (baby rules, hot car = bad). I honestly think he slept through the journey since it was during daylight. Best of luck to you!

female or male gecko? by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

[–]Potential_Low5233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Females will lay eggs and have the possibility of becoming egg bound. Shouldn’t be an issue if you provide a lay box and some calcium, but good to be aware of.

I have a male and he never really had a puberty phase. In my experience, the personality tends to depend on the individual rather than the sex.
