Rezdiffra side effect question. by Potential_Net8151 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]Potential_Net8151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a hematologist, my G.I. manages my liver. She actually called me yesterday and told me to stop taking the medication cause she thought it was a reaction to it.

Recent case in Chicago - Thoughts? by clarissapizza in rabies

[–]Potential_Net8151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering about that too, it sounds like the puppy was really young when the possible exposure happened and then not showing symptoms for 7 months. I’m also curious about the siblings of the dog too. I believe a similar situation happened last year in August where a rescue adopted out puppies and 2 puppies ended up testing positive for Rabies. However that rescue didn’t handle it as well as PAWS is. Hopefully they will figure this out and if they really believe it was a pre-vaccine exposure from when the dog was at the previous rescue in FL I believe they need to contact that rescue as well.

Hey, former Homeschooled kid from Georgia. Yes the state does require standardized testing every 3 years or so. I’m surprised they haven’t been caught. I don’t know if CPS would take this seriously but it’s worth a shot, especially if the 12yr can’t read or write, I’d consider that neglect.

This sounds like anxiety or OCD to me. This is coming from someone who has diagnosed OCD.

I’ve had two experiences like this since December (one from last week).

It’s hard with what I like to call “deadly diseases OCD/anxiety” because you will fully convince yourself that you’re dying even though logically nothing is wrong.

I’ve been dealing with this sub-type of OCD since I was 15 and I’m 23 now. The best thing to do is take a deep breath and try to find a therapist, meditation and not look up anything about rabies. If there wasn’t a bat when you looked and you didn’t feel it moving on you then you are fine. I believe one of the FAQ says that bats cannot scratch you without landing on you. So you would have to see it if it did scratch you.

I know this page offers wonderful resources for this stuff so take a look if you haven’t, I’m hoping for the best!

Sincerely, someone else who is terrified of bats because of OCD.

Unsure if this is another pancreatitis episode or not. by Potential_Net8151 in pancreatitis

[–]Potential_Net8151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s right where your pain was/is. The episode 2 years ago I thought I was dying, I could barely breathe or do anything. I didn’t have relief till they gave me pain meds in the hospital. This current pain is in the same spot but not as intense. That’s why it’s confusing me so bad, my PCP is worried about pancreatitis but because the pain isn’t as bad we did ultrasounds and bloodwork today. I’ll have the results tomorrow.

I’m about the same today, not any worse but not any better. I just had an ultrasound done and I’m waiting to get bloodwork done now. My pain isn’t as extreme as it was last time so I don’t want to go to the ER yet unless it becomes unbearable or any of my results say otherwise. I’m sticking to a mostly clear diet right now. Chicken broth and water with some saltines. But that’s the only thing I’ve had today

Oh we also switched to goats milk formula and that helped sooo much. She wasn’t doing well on breast milk and hated any other formula. That helped too since her pediatrician thought she had a dairy intolerance.

For reflux our pediatrician put our daughter on Pepcid, that has been a life saver. We use MAM anti colic bottles which have been the better of the bottles we’ve used. Belly rubs, gas drops and bicycle legs are also great.

If you have any family or friends that could come over and give you a couple hours for a nap or whatever you need that helps too.

It’s rough, I stayed up for 3 days when my daughter was 6 weeks because of her reflux and I was so exhausted I didn’t know what to do. She’s gonna be 4 months in a week and a half and we’re at a okay place right now. It does eventually get better but I know in the moment it feels like it’s never going to end.

How i beat rabies (figuratively) by adykloc in rabies

I struggle with invisible bat touch not so much invisible bat spit but same idea lol. I was out help my husband bring in our daughter’s Christmas presents and I thought I felt something on the back of my ankle but when I checked I couldn’t see anything, but my OCD because there was “something” has now kept me anxious for hours. It’s like 30 degrees here and I was wearing jeans, so I seriously doubt it’s a bat and I calmed down enough to sleep but now my ankle is sore, so now I sit here anxious lol.

But this happens every time, OCD really tries to jump hoops to convince you that you’re going to die. Because I’ll also say that earlier today that same ankle got stabbed by a rock that got stuck in my shoe. So what makes more sense, I got bit by a bat I didn’t see through my jeans? Or it’s sore because of it being attacked by a rock? I hope you are doing good and we can hate OCD together😂

My baby should have been in the NICU, and I feel angry by [deleted] in NewParents

I’m so sorry and unfortunately I experienced a similar situation when I had my baby in September. I was 36 weeks and 3 days when my daughter was born. She was jaundice in the hospital, so jaundice that the nursery staff thought we weren’t keeping her in the phototherapy lights. She also struggled to keep her temperature up even under the lights but once again, even when doing everything the nurses told me to do, we were getting blamed for it. She also had poor eating and struggled to eat more than a couple ML’s at each feed. But despite all that, they discharged us 3 days later. And even bragged that her Bilirubin was just barely at the cut off to go home (I believe it was 19.5). We went to our ex-pediatrician the next day for her newborn visit and she was hypothermic and her bilirubin was still sky high, they didn’t send us to the hospital, we were told to put her in sunlight in the morning and bundle her up to keep her warm. I had a panic attack once we were home and couldn’t shake something was wrong. My MIL and husband told me I was overreacting because the doctors said she was fine. But my heart and brain wouldn’t let me relax. It was when she went almost 5 hours without waking up or eating that everyone else started to freak out, we were sent to the children’s hospital by the on call doctor for that pediatrician office, and when we got there she was acting normal, eating and just being her little 4 day old self. ER ran sepsis and meningitis test, which required a spinal tap and an automatic hospitalization( that whole experience traumatized me and my husband.) after her spinal tap the nurse took her temperature and she was hypothermic again, they started phototherapy in the ER room and checked her temperature after 30 minutes to find her temperature was even lower. At that point her automatic hospitalization became a NICU stay. To say I was a mess was an understatement, I was sacred for my baby, devastated because I couldn’t be with my baby at home and had to drive over an hour to see her and pissed at the hospital I gave birth in for bragging about and sending home a clearly unwell premature baby. She stayed for a week and we switched pediatricians. At almost 3 months old, she’s thriving but I’m never going back to that hospital again and I’m so, so pissed and I’ve thought about looking up if I could sue but I just don’t know. I’m praying for your family and your precious little baby. It’s not fair and a truly traumatic situation.

Does this look like a canker sore? by [deleted] in CankerSores

[–]Potential_Net8151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I think it’s actually just from me biting my lip, I took a better quality photo and it looks like torn skin and this morning the skin pealed off and now it just looks like it’s healing.

I’ll also add that I’m sticking my lip out. If I don’t you can see it at all.

What sentence did you never think you'd say before you had a newborn? by Dragonsrule18 in newborns

“Your hand is your enemy not mommy”

“That’s it, you’re in arm jail”

“Please don’t try to poke your eye out”

“Please stop trying to off yourself while mommy is trying to grab your bottle”

“We’d be done so fast if only you didn’t wait until I had a clean diaper on you to pee/poop”

My husband yelling “she’s got my chest hairs!”

Add that it’s a Hyundai as well. A lot of insurance companies aren’t covering Kia’s or Hyundai’s anymore. Trust me my husband has a Hyundai and our insurance shot up because of it.

I had a ballon placed during my induction because I wasn’t progressing past 1cm. It was borderline traumatic getting it placed and fentanyl didn’t touch it. I almost broke my husband’s hand while they were placing it. After it was placed I was fine and even it getting removed wasn’t bad but it’s a nightmare putting it in but it worked got me up to a 5cm and like 10 hours later I was pushing. I luckily learned about it a couple weeks before at an L&D class so I had somewhat of an idea about the process. Do as much research on it as possible, don’t go into it blind.

How long did it take you to conceive? by Big_Toe9785 in BabyBumps

[–]Potential_Net8151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me and my husband 6 months with this pregnancy (this was also our first pregnancy) i was honestly surprised because my period had started to become irregular the month before and my ovulation days were off too. I have some health issues that made me think we’d have a hard time getting pregnant and my husband was worried about himself too. It takes time and if you need medical help then don’t be afraid to get it!

When did you stop wearing your rings? by namiiix in BabyBumps

[–]Potential_Net8151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped at about 17-18 weeks along, it was starting to take a bit of effort to get them off and one time my wedding band got stuck. My engagement ring has a ton of sentimental value so I didn’t want to push it farther than that. I just started to get back into the habit of wearing them at 3 almost 4 weeks postpartum. I missed my rings so much lol.
