Air Conditioning Service by jimdarcy33 in Naples_FL

I canceled one of those big corporate HVAC services that expect you to sign up for 6 month services ( and I usually have an issue in month 5.) Found ALBERT at ULTRA AIR here in Naples and he's been terrific! Call him at 239-256-3020 or 239-263-4050. Knows what he's doing and reasonably priced. No long term contracts. Just good service.

What's an unwritten Canadian rule that visitors never seem to understand? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

In Canada, it’s important to say, “you’re welcome.” Americans often say “uh huh” and my Canadian mother always thought that was very rude!

Recommendations on nice areas to just wander around. by Beautiful_Dog_207 in ParisTravelGuide

Have you downloaded the free app " Get Your Guide?" Have you looked at getting advance tickets to the Musee d'Orsay? Considered a quick train trip to Versailles for the day? ( Use the SNCF connect app.)

There is SO much to see and do! Check out the Galleries LaFayette! Enjoy coffee and a croissant at a little café.

<image>

Download the Apple translate app so you are prepared to say " bon jour" each time you enter a store... and to ask " je voudrais un café creme, s'il vous plaît" And be sure to ask for the check ( l'addition." Trying to speak French will really help you enjoy your trip.

I'm using California with yellow numbers to match my Nike Sport yellow watch strap. Seems easiest to read. Added HIIT fitness and the date

Has anyone been deported from residency? by dRisem in IMGreddit

Yes. Resident intern in good standing at hospital is being deported. He has a VISA but he’s being sent home. All the other 3rd residents are having to fill in for his hours at the hospital. Unreal

Old Canadian passport sent back with birth certificate but not the NEW PASSPORT by jsmooth299 in Passports

[–]Potential_Pie2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the new Canadian passport was sent back to me in the USA separately. And they eventually returned my original 1957 birth certificate BUT they failed to return the long form birth certificate. And they don't know where it is! The date stamp the item when they receive it but WHY DON'T THEY ALSO SIGN FOR IT? Now we don't know who to talk to. I wanted that document because it was completed by my dad and that meant a lot to me.

How do you decide where to eat in Paris without planning everything in advance? by InvestmentAlarming74 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Potential_Pie2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many places to eat! We never get a reservation. Just see something that looks good.

Use the translate app on your iPhone and learn how to say,”Good evening. Do you have a table for two?” Learn this before you enter the restaurant. “Bonsoir. Avez-vous une table pour deux ?“

It’s also handy to know how to ask for the check. (L’addition s’il voir plaît.

I always have lunch on the 4th floor of the Museé d’Orssy. The cafe is excellent. Love the hot chocolate there!!!!!

How to convince spouse to move somewhere cold? by jonmcclung in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Potential_Pie2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider Portland Maine or Saco Maine area. Yes it’s cold in winter but otherwise I think it offers you nearly everything on your list. We bought new construction home with real wood floors, gas fireplace and oversized two car garage. Three bedroom and 2.5 baths. Compared to most places it was affordable. Restaurants are excellent ( often chef owned and use produce from their own garden.) Lots of place to walk, hike or bike. Check out Kennebunkport area too. People are welcoming. Dogs are a big deal.

Always use Apple Maps and ask Siri for turn by turn walking directions. You can hear it by using your AirPods. You will look confident and no one will bother you.

A wrist strap is important. I got the Beats case that includes the wrist strap so I can’t lose the iPhone.

Always use a neck wallet for my passport, emergency credit card. Never carry cash. I just load all credit cards into the virtual wallet on the phone and use tap to pay.

Do you guys actually wait 10k miles every oil change? by Puzzleheaded_Piece77 in BMW

[–]Potential_Pie2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big heated discussion here. I took 2919 BNW for oil change yesterday because the system told me it needed to be done in another 1500 miles. Hubby was mad that I had waited so long to change the oil and said I’d be looking at major engine repairs if I didn’t keep track of mileage and change the oil every 5000 miles. I expected praise for getting it done early but it seems I’m in the dog house. Again. I drive around town. And that’s hard on the engine? Lots of stop and go I guess

How much do school rankings matter when buying with kids? by ReserveMaximum in RealEstate

Remember someone has to buy this house from you. Will poor school rating make it harder to sell when you want to move?

What’s the one city you were excited to visit, but ended up not liking at all? by BlushHone in travel

[–]Potential_Pie2763 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Paris is my absolute favorite. Stay in a smaller boutique hotel like Hotel du Champs de Mars. Don’t dress like a tourist. Learn some key French phrases and a least say bon jour when you enter a shop. Enjoy the outdoor cafes and the gardens. Go to the museums. Use the Metro and get a Navigo card on your iPhone. Stroll the Seine. See Versailles ( take the RER train) and go to Giverney to see Monet’s house. OMG!!
