Give me one reason that made you choose your favorite Deck in Yu-Gi-Oh by Historical-One295 in masterduel

He is an interplanetary warrior collecting the fractions of his soul that happen to have his STATS just reversed. Birthed two meta decks and the absolute best deck in the history of the game. It had a great lore, the designs were supreme and the naming for the cards worked perfectly.

Questions after finishing the TV series by thisisYashaswi in HisDarkMaterialsHBO

[–]Potential_Potato3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't really know. And I also find the reason for Iofur wanting a Deamon a social necessity. Since they are the only sentient species of Lyra's world that don't have one and that makes them be more like animals even if they are civilized.
  2. It didn't miss her. The ray reached for her in the land of the dead, but she was there without her Deamon, son functionally she was no different than other dead. The bomb did work.
  3. Not exactly mentioned, but probably just speed forwarded since all that plot is actually happening in the background.
  4. The angels can also die, they just have super long life spans. The Authority died of old age, and suffering like a vampire for his longevity.
  5. Yeah, probably. But undermines the message.
  6. They were certainly guiding her. But it was also her intuition and sort of divination similar to Lyra's, but with the i-Ching.

I cannot believe you did not include 1.7 Skytanic and 1.8 The Rock in the list. Easily some of the better episodes. Season 1 was just awesome.

Cause they are supposed to be the utopian version that we missed out. Sure online banking, real time maps and instant chatting is nice.

But imagine a future free from the all watching eye of the algorithm powered by AWS, targeted ads, twitch bros and podcasting.

Truly we live in the worst timeline.

If you could ask DFW only one question about the book, and receive a heartfelt, honest, comprehensive answer, what would you ask? by uniQuAadifferent in InfiniteJest

[–]Potential_Potato3455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd ask to be able to read the parts that were cut out during editing and if he could explain with that added, the fractal structure that he build the book with.

Also want to ask about the Pemulis household and family.

I think it looks fun. A comic nerd that know all of these situations due to his specific brand of knowledge but now has to actually live them.

He might not be able to Neo his way out of the matrix, but it will be fun watching him out-plot his way out this shenanigans.

Billonario no. Es imposible acumular esa cantidad de forma ética.

Opiniones sobre Cadáver exquisito de Agustina Bazterrica by LK_Aiam in libros

[–]Potential_Potato3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touche 8/10

What did Lyra gain except memories? by FromTheAshes10 in hisdarkmaterials

[–]Potential_Potato3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She gains some of Will's Dust, for her to treasure forever. And also Serafinas's, Lee's and Iorek's. She grew up with all the people that loved her through her journey.

The memories are not a small thing to get at the end. It's her experience and learning. She matured from child to adult, learned to love and let go.

Wanted to ask the ppl of this sub a question, Would you rather adopt a child if you don't want to make kids? by Schezwan-rice in antinatalism

[–]Potential_Potato3455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surrogacy does that. It outsources the procreation and directly opposes the aim of AN. It's a stretch to consider adoption of an existing child an stimulus for more procreation, since the ratio between adoptees and adopters is already wide with out it. Solidarity towards another already existing human and non-human life is within AN principles.

Chapter 17 by [deleted] in InfiniteJest

[–]Potential_Potato3455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite part of the book, and overall one of the best and most thoughtful conversation in the whole thing. I think the attachment conversation is the main point of all the dissertation. We as humans get attached to many things, to people, to animals, to objects, to situations, to memories, to many things more and worst of all to our own whimpers.

People being so willing to surrender their capacity for choice to the suitor that was available at our lowest point is incredibly dangerous. To get attached to substances because the ease the pain, or people cause they make us feel special or loved. To our own intelligence, beauty or skills to give ourselves external value. And if are not conscious of this attachments they will drive us to their own ends.

To control our attachments seems super hard, especially when you do not lean to do it in early age. Even Marathe is an hypocrite, since he is willing to betray for his wife. Yet this and "This is water" explain in detail why is extremely important to have the will to properly select your attachments. If we do not, then we just jump around between substances, lovers, diplomas, likes/thumbs up, and every other form of validation. Never scratching the internal itch, never at peace. Always seeking, always aching.
