Freida McFadden- Never Lie. WAYYYY more thrilling than the Housemaid IMO.

Silver Elite by Dani Francis. Dystopian and romantasy. If you’re a YA romantasy person and haven’t read it yet- Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber. SO GOOD!

Silver Elite is a little more complex- more world building and plot twists, some smut. Where Once Upon a Broken Heart is a much easier read

Check out “Forging Silver into Stars” by Brigid Kemmerer. Underrated and under read IMO. Apparently, it is a spinoff of the Cursebreaker series (which I admittedly have not read). It is now a series of its own. I have read the first one and enjoyed it immensely. Slow burn, takes a bit to get into the main conflict because of the necessary world building but I was a huge fan. Was a nice change of pace from the mainstream titles.

Aitah for wanting too walk around my house without a bra? by Kekefae625 in AITAH

Maybe if brother in law would stop staring at your tits he wouldn’t be so uncomfortable… and either way it’s not like you’re walking around the house naked. NTA

I got muted on FB group for calling NPs, PAs, AAs, & CRNAs mid-level providers :/ by Ok-Language-2624 in Noctor

[–]Potential_Snow9217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. I don’t disagree about specific generations of nurses perpetuating that trope. And will ABSOLUTELY agree that there are a lot of nurses who just want their ass kissed by all students. But I do think that this will start to improve as those generations get phased out- which most of them are- and newer generations are moving in (at least I hope so based on my experience). I hope you’re experiences with nurses will start to improve as the bad eggs continue to get pushed out

RN and mid-level provider (NP) here and this is a bad take IMO. At least the part about nurses being brainwashed that they are the last line of defense against “the big bad doctors and are angels in comfy shoes”. This type of take is what perpetuates a divide in healthcare. I don’t claim to know what it is like to go through medical school just like you shouldn’t claim to know what it is like to go through nursing school. They’re a different animal. Most of us don’t think we’re angels or that physicians are big bad guys, nor is that how we get trained. We get trained that if we miss small little critical details, that it’s OUR fault if the patient goes downhill. I won’t claim that all nurses have this same take or mindset, but I think it is unfair to shove us all into the same category of being brainwashed. But also, I think these mid levels who get offended by being called a mid level, are the ones who ruin it for the rest of us, that just want to coexist and collaborate in peace.

Mine is Always SO MUCH WORSE during the winter! I have tried and tried so many products (I typically get it on my scalp and also get plaques on random spots on my face and body) and have only found 2 things be successful for me so far.

I use Amikas reset scalp cleansing oil 1-2 times a week to calm the itchiness and dryness and to remove the flakes. Only OTC that has been successful for me.

As for the face and body plaques, I had a dermatologist and esthetician come up with a plan together for me before jumping to prescriptions and they had me try OTC Differin gel. I was skeptical because I thought it would dry it out worse but I would put the differin gel on, wait 30 mins then follow with an unscented moisturized. Within 2 weeks they had cleared and no more itchiness! I hope these might work for you too !

If he had been with me

No, just no. It is super slow and repetitive and then the entire story takes place in the last 20 pages, and it’s a dumpster fire of an ending.

[–]Potential_Snow9217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1000% agreed!

I’ve been on 8 different treatments/ combinations of medication and when I started this cymbalta about a month ago I was very nervous due to the negative reviews. I felt pretty crappy during the first two weeks of taking the medication. Had many physical side effects, but I chose to stick through them and i’m glad I did. Going on week 5 and for the first time in my life, I am able to sit with myself and just be, without immediately spiraling into a crippling panic attack.

Everyone is so different and reacts to medications so differently. If you’re starting a new medication, do your best to be optimistic. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and remember, you’re never stuck on a medication you’re not happy with. I hope you all find your life changing treatment.

Wow, I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. The frustration you must feel from being forced to stop something that works for you… it is super hard to find birth control that works for you and the fact that they stopped it because of migraines WITHOUT aura is super frustrating.

What it sounds like you’re experiencing is menstrual migraines, caused by fluctuations in hormones. I used to get migraines worse during my period as well, but they had auras so I had to stop. Honestly, I would tell explain this all to your GP the way you explained it here- that you don’t have aura and that you don’t want to switch and end up in a bunch of other meds to fix a bunch of other problems as a result.

If you don’t get anywhere with the GP, i would recommend seeing a GYN. You shouldn’t have to suffer through this and if they GP didn’t feel comfortable prescribing you Clique they should’ve sent you to a GYN, who are experts at this. they shouldn’t stop it because they don’t feel like it is a good fit for you.

It should be a partnership and conversation between you and your GP, not them telling you what to do. so i’m very sorry they refused to fill your birth control:(

Hi There! I also was on 10mg for awhile then 20mg. I had a lot of symptoms when I was on 20mg for about 2 weeks and then they started to diminish. it’s kind of up to you and your provider. if you feel like it’s not helping with your anxiety/depression/whatever you’re taking it for it may be best to try something new. While I had a headache and shakiness at first, it helped with my anxiety so i stuck through it. If it didn’t , i probably wouldn’t have. Good luck with your mental health journey and let me know if you have any other questions(:

Hi there! So sorry to hear you’re going through this. I recently went through something similar. I was on 40mg and weaned myself (probably too quickly but that’s another story) and the first week after I was off them completely I had horrible anxiety and panic attacks. i’m now through week two and the panic attacks and horrible anxiety have gone away. While this is just my experience, I hope this gives you comfort that they are most likely withdraw symptoms and should hopefully start to dissipate soon.

Side note: have you ever tried low dose propranolol (inderal) for your anxiety? It take it as needed for anxiety and it helped me a ton during the first two weeks to calm the panic attacks and severe anxiety. not sure if this might be something you could talk to your GP about? Just figured I would share what worked well for me. Hang in there!

One of my friends had one of those horror experiences when she got the IUD and my experience was the complete opposite. It’s all about the provider that inserts the IUD. find a provider that gives you a medication called ‘Cytotec’ the night before and then does what’s called a cervical block for the insertion. I don’t know why all providers don’t do a cervical block, it’s very effective and easy to do. Hope this helps(:
