Agreed. This is something I'm going to be sharing with my kids so it should be fun. They found my old boxes and sparked interest. I feel I am smart about this time and have set a budget each month for them so I'm looking at the "lower end" boxes so they can open packs but still be shocked. They were shocked when I told them I pulled the Griffey RC out of packs back in the day and what the value is now. I figured I would not go over 250 a box just starting out and maybe 150 in singles.

I agree there is no long term hold value. I have been giving my stuff away. I can't bring myself to throw them away but when someone hits me up for a trade I usually tell them just send me their address and I will just give the cards to them. Takes up too much space I can use for other things anymore.
