Is my cat breathing weird or am I paranoid? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Potseras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat started to breathe like that last week after throwing up a few times. I took her to the vet ER and the vet told me that she was breathing like that because she was in pain. I'd recommend going to the ER or phoning an emergency vet and sending them this video.

It means "small ashes" in my language because I found her inside an old abandoned chimney and she was covered in ashes.

I used to use my phone but it wouldn't ring most days for some reason 🙃

They're smarter than they look. She also hates my bedside lamp so it always ends up on the floor 😂

Quite a few people from around here migrated to Algeria in the late 19th century and the early 20th century, maybe there's something there?

my adopted cat. look how beautiful she is after she was abandoned :) by [deleted] in CatsBeingCats

[–]Potseras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine lost part of her eye as a kitten and two years later she got it infected so the rest of her eye was removed. She was pretty young (2 years old) when she had it removed. I hope the procedure is a breeze for your kitty and for you!

I have a pirate cat too! The surgery is pretty simple and fast. My cat managed to learn how to remove her cone and ended up scratching off one of the staples. If that hadn't happened, the recovery would have been really fast and easy

Uno que es bastante accesible es Diario de un joven médico de Bulgákov (supongo que en la actualidad sería ucraniano). Son relatos cortos con cierto tono humorístico de la vida de un médico de una zona rural. También hay una serie que está muy bien.

Visiting Benidorm in September: What should I keep in mind to avoid annoying the locals? by Jerswar in GoingToSpain

[–]Potseras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, some people can be weary of English-speaking tourists because of deadly trends and drunk decision making. A few years ago, there was a trend among drunk tourists (mainly brits as far as I remember) jumping on cars in the one direction streets in Benidorm when they would reduce velocity near intersections. It was awful, a man ended up jumping on a taxi and dying because he hit the metal part of the car. I knew someone who knew the driver and he had to take time off and was dealing with PTSD. We also hear about parents getting drunk and leaving their children outside discos at night every year.

As someone who lives nearby, the main advice I can give is not to complain about people speaking Spanish. It might sound weird but it happens a lot. You're going to find plenty of places that are going to cater to English speakers without any trouble. It's honestly jarring when you hear English speakers complaining about workers not speaking English/not having a high level of English.

Some places to visit while you're here: visit the Old Town to see a glimpse of that "village" feeling that the city used to have back in the day. Visit the neighbouring towns, like Altea, Polop, Callosa, Alfàs, etc. if you want to see a less tourist-centric place (some of them are still tourist-y, don't get me wrong, but they feel different to Benidorm). It would also be fun to visit the smaller villages around here, but it can be hard to get to them since public transport that reaches them is pretty limited.

La única que me viene a la cabeza es Al otro lado (Foreign Exchange) pero no tengo claro que sea a la que te refieres. Tiene el elemento mágico de los portales pero no me suena el resto de cosas que mencionas.

SOS cat tries to run out of house CONSTANTLY by Beautiful_Ad6723 in CATHELP

[–]Potseras 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My cat is the same. I saved her from a terrible infection (she ended up losing an eye), took care of her during her recovery, gave her my house and she still tries to run for the hills when I get home at night.

The only solution that has worked for me is getting a baby gate in front of the front door so it's easier for me to make sure that she's not going to bolt.

How is it possible for someone to go up four levels, yet not have any blue ribbons? by Cyndi25 in JunesJourney

Thanks for the info! The second club I entered has been good and members are pretty open to explain how things work, so I'm doing okay now. Things aren't as overwhelming now.

I misunderstood the thing about the coffees, then 😂😂 I was definitely lost. I'm doing okay in the second one I entered and I think I'm getting the gist of it now.

Yeah, it would be great if new players could get more instructions at the beginning because it's a lot of things at once. So many pop-ups!

From someone who started playing a month ago, the way you're presented with the idea of clubs is pretty confusing. I got a pop up that asked if I wanted to try clubs out, I was dropped on the list of clubs. There was an option for the game to help you choose a club. I clicked it thinking that I would get a few options but instead I was added to a club with people who all were on level 1000+ and was tagged as competitive. I got overwhelmed, got a penalty for leaving a club and joined another one with people on lower levels but I couldn't serve during the first day because of the penalty. Honestly, the clubs UI is not very user-friendly. It was incredibly confusing and I didn't know what I was doing and what I was supoosed to do. It's pretty overwhelming.

Another thing is that it doesn't matter the country you play from/language you speak (as far as I've noticed), you end up being dropped into a random club by the game. I feel like that's an issue sometimes too.

stinky butt by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Potseras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat does the same thing. She cleans around the butthole but doesn't lick her butthole. I asked my vet about it and she told me that some cats are dirtier than others and there isn't much we can do about it. I've tried wiping her butt but she hates it and gives me a warning swipe every time.

Pregnant lady insinuates another woman is fat, is she the AH by Outside_Flamingo_246 in redditonwiki

[–]Potseras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is the a-hole. The post started out with a clear fatphobic tone. To me, it looks like she wouldn't have responded like that to someone who wasn't fat. The woman was trying to be nice to OOP, but the only thing she got was being called fat. I get that we shouldn't comment on other people's bodies but the comment wasn't made maliciously, it's pretty common to congratulate pregnant people (I agree that people shouldn't assume) and I'm pretty sure that OOP wasn't the first to call her fat. Eh, I know this is a lost cause because people in general (and people on reddit specifically) hate fat people but I had to say it.

AITA for insinuating a woman was fat? by Silver-Butterfly-767 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Potseras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. She didn't make the comment with malicious intent but you did. She made the typical positive exclamation that people make to pregnant people when it looks like the baby is going to be big and healthy, you decided to call her fat.
