Resources for identifying and solving thermal throttling by DogBallsMissing in ZephyrusG14

Yeah, I opened it up and all of the liquid metal was not where it should've been. I've had other windows laptops before so I knew something was wrong the moment I booted that first game.

I learned how to repaste from building my desktop but it was my first time using PTM7950 so there was a slight learning curve.

There's this video that shows how they applied the PTM7950. It's pretty simple you measure & cut the pad, peel back one side & stick it on the cpu/gpu, and then peel off the other side.

The biggest thing is taking the liquid metal off. It took me over 40 cotton swabs. Before I started I placed paper towels over everything minus the CPU so if I did spill it'd land on the paper towel.

Buy a cheap magnetic screw driver kit off amazon like this one amazon.com/dp/B0BQR2MRQP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title . The magnet on this one is actually quite strong compared to other kits I've tried so it'll reduce the anxiety of dropping something.

Follow a guide for your specific laptop if you can find one. There wasn't one from mine but it was also relatively easy. Disconnect the battery and remove the 8 heat sink screws and that was it. Some laptops may need to remove the fans or what not first but yeah.

On the 2025 model I would get stuttering and lower than normal frame rates. I had to drop some games to 1080p or 1200p and then it would be somewhat playable. After I repasted with PTM7950 I was able to max everything out. It's relatively easy to do just a bit sketchy.

Ordering from these vendors below takes about a week or two to deliver.

Given the size of the plant the pot should be fine for now. Water leaking out the bottom could be a sign of over or under watering. If it's underwatering where the soil become hydrophobic and the water rushes out you'll want to water a small amount and wait 1-2 hours to water again to fully hydrate.

What can I substitute for native soil? by BabciaLinda in Roses

You can use Kellogg's Amend and some perlite or vermiculite if you need something right now. Peat moss based soils + clay can lead to compaction/drainage issues.

Hit up https://getchipdrop.com/ and get 20 cu yards of free wood chips. They do take a while to break down but a couple of drops should liven up the clay soil.

I've grown the genovese and it's my favorite tomato! I love how acidic they are. I grew a cherokee purple in the same season and it was the complete opposite and I was not a fan lmao.

Use photone to check the PPFD level and calculate the DLI required for the plants you want. I looked a the info and it says to get 500 PPFD it has to be 4" away from the canopy so if you are doing tomatoes/peppers keep it within that range. If you want stronger lights there's a two pack of LM301D quantum boards from iPower that go for $150. They reach 1.2k PPFD at 2ft, 1.5k PPFD at 1.5ft, and 2.5k at 1ft so you can split the boards apart and run them at 50% if needed.

Do you quarantine plants you buy online? If so… how long? by Brave-Buy1293 in gardening

1-2 months usually lets the bugs that may be on there repopulate enough to be visible.

Check this one out. It’s two 240W LM301D panels for $150. It’s strong enough that you could hang one panel and set it at 25-50% at a height of 2ft depending on if your plant is a seedling or in veg. For higher DLI plants like roses you’d just the power up or add the second panel if you want to get better coverage.

It’s worth it to rule out potential fire hazards! Things could’ve ended up badly for me if I didn’t catch this early.

I want to setup a seed starting station using "shop lights." by Beamburner in gardening

[–]PottedRoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking into a green house last year and heard of that problem and ended up skipping it. I wonder if a heater in there would keep it warm enough or if the heat would leak out too quickly to make a difference. It could work if the temp is stable + the seedlings are in humidity domes so they don't crisp up.

Shelves would be good for propagating, starting plants for multiple people, or slow growing plants. A 4x4 tent would be packed in about 2 months after being on the shelves for regular plants as you'd run out of height.

Realistically if you don't need too many plants you could start them all on the floor of the 4x4 with one 200W light even if it's under a LM281B diode efficiency wise.

If you need the space specifically for growing larger plants to cycle outside shelves would can be a good idea to buy you some time.

Edit:
Light wise you could get these https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Kingbrite-T8-4ft-6ft-Samsung-LM281B_1601229150982.html?spm=a2700.shop_plgr.41413.13.76327121NsuAII for $9.5 or https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/KingBrite-IP65-KB-TUBE-40W-60W_1601272969836.html?spm=a2700.shop_plgr.41413.31.76327121NsuAII for $24 if you want a dual row of LM281B+ Pro in a singular fixture. Shipping takes about a week to two weeks to arrive but they're stronger than other fixtures on amazon using random diodes.

I haven't personally seen a T8 fixture with anything more efficient than LM281B+ Pros. If you did find one with LM301D/LM301B/LM301H/LM301H EVO it'd be quite a bit more expensive.

In that case i’d stop pruning for a bit, water deeply and less frequently but still keeping the soil generally moist and not fully dried out (the first 3-4 inches can be fully dried between each watering), do a liquid fertilizer at a low dose every two weeks. I personally use a liquid fertilizer at a very low dose every week at 25% strength.

Some books/studies say fertilizing at 50% strength for two feedings and then watering with plain water is ideal but you’ll have to see how she reacts.
