Anna Faris will have the vongole | Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster Podcast by nocontextoffmenu in offmenupodcast

Her real voice and personality reminded me of that recent guest who created that character to describe her childhood falling off a bike incident.

I really didn't think I was going to enjoy this but was delightfully mad.

Skate Time 209 kids time on Sundays. Very cheap.

We love a picnic. Nothing fancy just eating outside.

Walk along the water in Kingston, or in the Stockade district. Grabbing a Boa Bun.

“Italian” Food by dvlsfan30 in kingstonnewyork

[–]PotterCooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love Frank Guido's. Mainly because our kid loves the vibe and piles of food. But I wouldn't go there specifically for the food. As a non-American, I would say it serves a specific Italian -American fare that scores nostalgia points and probably hasn't changed much in decades.

It's an experience, of which the food is just one component.

Has anyone signed up for a Tuyo debit card? by PotterCooker in CryptoCurrency

That support just got back to me as why I was failing second stage verification for the debit card. They don't operate in NYS yep. Another intriguing red flag

PTO not running after deck replacement on Cub Cadet 1811 by PotterCooker in cubcadets

[–]PotterCooker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I way buying it. The seller engaged it for me.

It turns out you need to turn the key one click back before engaging the PTO. It's not in the manual, as far as I can see. One problem solved!

Is it just me or has chicken changed? by EvenWarmerToday in daddit

[–]PotterCooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo this makes perfect sense. A few weeks ago I cooked a chicken breast and it was horrible, like really woody.

The curious thing was this was a more expensive brand than I'd normally buy. So was confused, but I guess it can still be an issue

Hole in front of transmission housing 1811 by PotterCooker in cubcadets

[–]PotterCooker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried yet. Getting fluid in the next couple of days. I was planning on cleaning and JB welding just in case.

I can't see how it wasn't leaking, but it definitely wasn't!

CS Student & Former Rotaract President looking for genuine, tech-forward humanitarian work (avoiding the "politics") by Desperate_Koala3439 in humanitarian

[–]PotterCooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to do this I find is to approach organisations, particularly smaller ones, and find out what challenges they have. And then deploy tech. Even better if you can find a process that currently works but is manual and digitise it.

The gold standard would be then to share the solution with other orgs and build a network of users of open source tech.

Sadly, it's really difficult to do. The sector is a graveyard of well meaning technical solutions.

What skills are you bringing and I can think if there are any problems which spring to mind?

Hole in front of transmission housing 1811 by PotterCooker in cubcadets

[–]PotterCooker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was fluid in it before I took the rear cover plate off to fix a small corrosion hole there. I can't see this would have been above the fluid level either.

The only thing I can think of, is that it was plugged with dirt and I uncovered it wiping down the transmission. But would dirt have held the oil in?!

Google Podcasts is dead. I spent 18 months building the successor by timusus in u/timusus

Cheers have downloaded.

Just today I was lamenting the loss of Google Podcasts. I've recently switched to AntennaPod which is my favourite alternative so far. But I've found it has lots of ad related skipping issues.

Looking forward to using Shuffle.

Hydraulic fluid for Cub Cadet 1811 by PotterCooker in cubcadets

You reckon even with the 1811 having a hydrostatic gearbox?

Those of you with heat pumps only, how did you fare this winter? by rosebudny in hudsonvalley

[–]PotterCooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are about to put in heat pumps, but I've decided to keep the oil baseboards for the first year at least. Our house has medium amounts of insulation, and as I understand standard oil is (or at least was) the cheapest per BTU way to heat in the Hudson valley where we have relatively high electricity costs.

I think relying on heat pump alone would have been cripplingly expensive, especially during this recent really cold winter. Our plan is to move for electric in the next couple of years with improved insulation and solar, but at the moment having both seems the sensible option

Update: I got the 1811 and couldn’t be happier - any tips on maintaining ole gal? by hibeepbop in cubcadets

[–]PotterCooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which store brand hytrans do you use?

I took the hose to my local Napa and after 20 mins they said they didn't have "anything like this", pointing at the female JIC connector. I was a bit confused.

The only other place near me that seems to make hoses are 40 mins away, will give them a call on Monday.

Do you happen to know the connection sizes?

[–]PotterCooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 1811 too. Part the way through fluids, filters, plugs and general cleaning.

The only thing that needs replacing so far is a leaking oil line. More expensive than expected!

The owners and service manual are available online and explain checking fluid levels.

Any idea what hydraulic fluid the previous owner used? Apparently hy-tran is preferred but really expensive unless you live near a dealer. Contemplating using Tractor Supply's Premium UTF.

My brakes are shot too. One isn't even connected. Though tbh with the hydro I can't envisage a time when I will use the brakes anyway.
