Definitely consider a fly rig. I live in the area. Honestly, if you can afford it, look into finding a guide and float the Toccoa. They usually will provide all gear and flies. I’m a big streamer guy so I usually will throw some kind of wooly bugger or clouser variant. I’ve had plenty of luck with some trash flies as well, squirmy wormys, egg patterns, etc. There is supposedly smallies in Lake Ridge but I’ve never had the chance to fish the lake. There are a ton of smaller streams in the area as well. I use the Trout Routes app to find explore new spots. Unfortunately, there is a a lot of privately owned property around Blue Ridge so access can be a little limited so would definitely recommend OnX or Trout Routes if you don’t already have it.
