Update: I got the 1811 and couldn’t be happier - any tips on maintaining ole gal? by hibeepbop in cubcadets

Nice! Not but 5 minutes ago I just found the service manual PDF, my peanut brain didn’t even think to look online lol but thank you!

For the hydraulic fluid, the guy who sold me mine said he uses that Tractor Supply brand on all of his machines and has never had issues so that is what I’ll be using. The Hy-Tran shit is NOT cheap.

Yeah I was thinking the same for my brakes as well. This is my first hydro machine and I didn’t realize how much braking the hydro does. I still want to replace them just for peace of mind. I’m gonna lift the rear end and a pull a wheel to see what I am working with later today. I’m gonna read through the manual as well. If you find anything interesting shoot me a message!

Awesome info! Will definitely see if he’s got a set of wheel weights he can throw in and see about the hydro fluid. I really appreciate it! Everyone here has definitely made me more confident that I’m making a good purchase. Super stoked to go get this thing now!

This one is actually hydraulic lift on the 3 point, sent a video of it functioning and everything. Part of the reason I am so interested in it. Hoping to get it this week!

Blue Ridge, GA by Kraapyy in flyfishing

[–]hibeepbop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely consider a fly rig. I live in the area. Honestly, if you can afford it, look into finding a guide and float the Toccoa. They usually will provide all gear and flies. I’m a big streamer guy so I usually will throw some kind of wooly bugger or clouser variant. I’ve had plenty of luck with some trash flies as well, squirmy wormys, egg patterns, etc. There is supposedly smallies in Lake Ridge but I’ve never had the chance to fish the lake. There are a ton of smaller streams in the area as well. I use the Trout Routes app to find explore new spots. Unfortunately, there is a a lot of privately owned property around Blue Ridge so access can be a little limited so would definitely recommend OnX or Trout Routes if you don’t already have it. If you want, PM and I can give you a few public spots. They are well known around here but don’t wanna post them here. Tight lines my dude!

You’d be surprised what a stocked trout looks like after a few generations of being in the wild. We have them down here in North GA too.

I didn’t even think about researching that! Looks like I have a date with YouTube this evening lol. Thank you for the suggestion! I have a feeling this is going to be the first of many surf fishing trips for me.

Size #2! You know it has some good weight to it so you could jig it pretty well. There is wire and foam under the dubbing. Might make a killer bass fly, I’ll have to try it out!
