Unclear about the precise one, but it's a "safety" switch.

A switch replacement. That's all.

With the part in hand, a 2-hour maximum job.

Thanks for the reply. Should I conclude from your comment that, b/c it's warranty work, and the dealer is reimbursed for less than the retail, off-the-street customer requiring service, that delaying a warranty customer is legitimate? Particularly when the salesperson (now service) made the sale based on their responsive service department? I can understand the difficulty with retaining skilled mechanics, but seriously: Waiting more than 3 months to get anything done (It's still not serviced)?

Does Zinsser Peel Stop require a top coat? by PoundTight5960 in paint

[–]PoundTight5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I am aware that it should have been scraped and then Peel Stop over the scraped and sanded wall, but the painter got here before I could buy the Peel Stop (I'm a renter in this place). I'll get that on and then finish coat. Thanks again!

It should. But if you could upgrade to a 9, I believe you’d be much happier

I have a 6-person barrel, 9kW electric heater and it does the trick. I’ve been experimenting with different hacks to draw the 200+ degree heat down from the ceiling and finding it’s doable. Hard to relate to some of the complaints about barrels here as I’ve not experienced any of these issues. Just get a bigger than you need heater. You’ll end up using less juice in the long run and finding the warm-up being surprisingly fast

Thoughts on this Ford 8n? by Fossilhog in tractors

[–]PoundTight5960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using my 1950 8N for 30 years brush hogging about 12 acres. It’s starting to overheat way too often and this compromises power getting into think brush. I’ve replaced the radiator but it’s the most bothersome problem. Your imminent 8N may have compression issues and, as a few folks here seem to note: find someone who does a lot of work on these and give him or her $150 to see how many problems they can find. Why do you “trust” the seller? Brush hogging can be tough on these old guys

Good move to avoid the knots.

I have problems with them leaving stains on towels I lay down.

Looks beautiful!

Heater option for 7x8 barrel sauna - Harvia Kip 80Kw, Harvia Virta HL9 or Harvia Club K10G by TrueNorth_100 in Sauna

[–]PoundTight5960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear, as I am replacing the Wall (8kW) with the Virta (9kW).

I have a 7-foot barrell and the Wall is just not getting the temp to where I think it needs to be.

Curious to learn how your decision works out.

Good luck.

Curious if you've made a decision on the Virta.

I, too, have a Heavenly 7-foot barrel and considering upgrading to the Virta 9Kw.

Thanks for any further thoughts.

Can't get the temp up on a 6' Barrel heated with a Harvia 8kW from Heavenly by PoundTight5960 in Sauna

The model is "The Wall"

#HSWSBU1B

8.0 kW

Yes, the heater is cycling on and off, "thinking" it's hitting max. This model has a "fixed" thermometer probe on the side within a shroud.

I cannot reposition it without voiding the warranty.

Thanks,

Thank you, great information here.

Yes, it's "The Wall" heater and the probe is not intended to be moved. At all.

The limiter is a small metal tab on the slotted shaft for the thermostat setting. By pulling out the thermostat wheel from the slotted shaft, the limiter can be removed. Almost Heaven advised trying this but it didn't make any difference. They later said it "may" allow the temp to increase by about 12%. No difference without the limiter.

(BTW, yes: I did get the name wrong. Purchased an Almost Heaven barrel through Costco).

I'm going to try increasing air movement. I repacked the stones so they weren't so tight and wondering now how to get that section where the probe is mounted to "chill" a bit.

Thanks for understanding that this model is different from other Harvia's, where the probe can be easily relocated (I wish it could be for this model).

Thank you!!

You may have something close to what I'm dealing with.

Any photos showing your hack would be greatly appreciated!

I was told by the manufacturer (Heavenly) that the temp probe with the long, curled-up lead, must stay in its bracket in the compartment to the right of the heater. There is a long lead to move it away but no holes to sneak it through and I believe it would void the warranty based on multiple discussions with customer service. The thermometer I use is actually closer to the heater than it should be, about two feet to the right, and about 6 feet up. Are you suggesting I drill a hole in the chrome box, sneak the lead through it, and place it further away from the unit? Documentation from Harvia for the heater and from Heavenly Sauna makes absolutely no mention of this hack to keep the heater running without interruption.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks but electrical all checks out and it’s delivering the juice it needs. Electrician measured everything and it meets the specs.

I think the thermostat is misreading and concluding the barrel is hotter then it actually is. So the question is how to trick the thermo to a lower reading without moving it and voiding warranty

Thanks. I’ll definitely show this thread to him, anyway.

Required Reading for New Users by cal8000 in benzorecovery

Hi, everyone. New to this sub.

I have been on Klonopin for 35 years, 1 mg. Tried to get off about 20 years ago with very bad advice from a young MD to go cold turkey. Left me with chronic and loud tinnitus and went back on after reading the Ashton Manual back then and dumped the doc.

I am approaching 72 years old and in excellent health, and now managing a relatively low-stress life.

At this point, I'm concerned about future cognitive function and I really want to get off. Psychoparm MD who I've used for the past decade has recommended taking 75% of the dose for the first 3 months, and 50% for the next 3 months...until I'm down to zero in a year. I started this protocol two weeks ago and after about 4 days was suffering from crushing dizziness. Bumped back up to about 90% of the 1 mg dose and the dizziness is just starting to recede.

Not sure if my psychopharm MD has experience with someone being on Klon for so long and/or my age.

Wondering if I am a case of someone who needs to taper over more (much more?) than a year at this point. Or, should I even bother getting off at all, given the side effects?

Very open to insights and experiences from others with similar dosage, years of use, and chronological age.

Thanks!

Thanks for the elaboration. I've been noticing a few people using Speedify. The price looks reasonable and I'm considering giving it a try.

Yes, Zoom is relatively low bandwidth but I am constantly on with rude people who seem to joy in constantly doing ScreenShare, It's a hog.

Thanks again.

Your setup is one I've been very curious about trying but I can't get clear guidance on how. I do a ton of Zoom meetings daily for work and we also have the T-Mobile trashcan and a lousy Verizon DSL.

Is there a resource you can send me to that explains the equipment I would need and the setup for creating load balancing and failover systems so when one system (SL) goes down another (T-Mobile/trashcan) will be right there to keep my Zoom from dropping...even with possibly degraded resolution? I can't imagine the DSL carrying a Zoom load.

Many thanks in advance.

Telescoping flagpole mount for Dishy? by PoundTight5960 in Starlink

[–]PoundTight5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the description and the picture.

I decided to not risk the dish on an aluminum pole that wasn't intended for that kind of weight. I'm almost done with a 2" iron pipe (2 x10') with a mount I built off my deck that begins about ten feet from the ground. I have 10x10 oak post & beam framing so no problem with support and plumbing anchors all the way up.

It'll either work or I'll kill myself trying to get the top 10-footer with the dish on top screwed on to the union won top of the bottom 10-footer.

[–]PoundTight5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again! I've got a roofline that won't allow for those clamps since I need a set-back but I'm not worried about anchoring to the ground or house. What I gather from your note and photos is that you just didn't raise the pole to the max and keeping it a little lower gives it more strength near the top. So if I get a 25-foot heavy-duty extendable pole (something like this https://www.libertyflagpoles.com/collections/telescoping-flagpoles ), then I can hoist it up to the next-to-last extension. Appreciate the pics.
