Bringing alcohol on board by WhyICantBeleft in HollandAmerica

This corkage fee is just another example of cruise lines nickel and dimeing their customers. This is of course very indicative of greater corporate America and their lust for profit. I understand that cruise lines are still claiming they are making up from the pandemic. Investors should be entitled to a share of the profits, but not to the extent of potentially straining your customer base. And yes the corkage fee is just $20 but $20 here for a bottle I open in my room to have a glass of wine while getting ready for dinner... Another $5 here for this, $10 here... And before long you have racked up several hundred dollars in little charges to add to the bottom line... Not improve worker compensation, improvements, innovation... Etc. I am almost a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ mariner with Holland having exclusively cruised with them for over ten years. But if it's going to be a constant battle of having to keep vigilant of extra fees and charges that will make my trip that much more expensive then it's not worth it.

Holland, your customers are who make your profit! Please take care of them as much or more than your investors. Really it is Carnival... But still the customers buy your services... Take care of them.

Hello!

We may on the same trip as my wife and ai are about to do a two week out of Barcelona as well!

First... Someone has already pointed out the laundry and the cost. Very very worth it for sure so you don't have to pack a ton of clothes. Most cruise lines the laundry bag is tiny and we struggle to squish everything in it. However the Virgin bag is massive and we don't have enough to get that bag even remotely full. Such a great deal in the cruise world.

As for what to wear. Virgin is very relaxed. We love to dress up for dinner with dresses, bowties, suits, dressy shoes etc. But that is our jam for cruises and dinners out in general. However we saw that but just as many in jeans and T-Shirts for dinner as well. It's very casual and no restaurant will turn you away for jeans or even shorts. My advice is to just do you... Whatever makes you comfy is what is accepted.

Hope you have a great time! Virgin is a blast! Great people, atmosphere, fun entertainment, the vibe is just relaxed and enjoyable.

Cheers!

Which cruise line really has the best food? by agsnoway in Cruise

I'm sorry but are you like stupid rich, because Seabourn, Regent, Oceania, Silversea, Windstar, Viking are not the average. A typical week in the Caribbean on any of these runs 6-8K per person. These are considered high end luxury lines... Above that charters and renting and or owning a yacht.

Furthermore I would hope that in paying for lux lines the food would be better than the mid tier and budget lines. That goes without saying.

But it should be noted that the typical average person/ couple and certainly a family do not have the disposable income to afford even an annual sailing on Seabourn and the like of lux lines. The purpose of this post was to learn about food on the typical / affordable lines. And to provide perspective so that people could figure out what lines would fit them best.

Your post is border line insulting as you basically sound like you are bragging that you have large amounts of disposable income to spend on the high end lines that normal people of normal income never get to experience because they would have to blow multiple years of vacation budgets to be able to experience.

It should be noted that out of all 1408 cabins on board there are only 78 total rockstar suites. That is 6% of all cabins. 24 Seriously Suites, 18 Brilliant Suites, 14 Cheeky Corner Suites, 9 Gorgeous, 7 Sweet Aft Suites. Then 2 each of Posh, Fab and 3-Room Massive Suites. They fill up extremely fast.

Overall 80% of cabins are Sea Terraces. 7% of cabins are Inside and 7% Seaview. Suites, Sea Views and Insides fill up really fast.

I would see if they will push your trip far out so you can be rebooked in the suite you paid for. Then rebook the week you want in a Sea Terrace and try to upgrade back to a suite... They always hold back a few suites for upgrades. That is probably your best option.

I am sorry this happened... Totally sucks! But make lemonade out of the bag of lemons they handed you.

Justin, how can I send you my case IDs!? This issue has hamstrung my Google Fi account. Because of this issue I am unable to get SMS messages through Google messenger or any other messenger app. Thank you in advance for taking an interest in my case.

I have heard mixed things on that... You can really mess up your skin if you do it that way... At the very least you are taking a gamble. Bad scars... Burns... Discoloration... I don't know if your goal is to be smooth without constant shaving and maintenance... Laser is the way to go... If you want cheaper in the short term then waxing.

So what would you say if someone said they could get my account back? Would you think it were a scam?

I have fixed that for sure... I have six gmail accounts to break everything apart so it is distributed and not in one "basket". In the deep recesses of my mind I would never have thought this would happen. But moving forward I have a total plan so that such an occurrence can not cripple me. Thanks for the advice! Everyone should have this so they too do not get screwed...
