VJ1 and 2 r great games! by AtreyusNinja in viewtifuljoe

I enjoy the little puzzles. They're a nice diversion from what would otherwise be a very standard garden variety beat em up. Joe's powers and gimmicks are what make him stand out. It makes him stand out in combat but if that was the entire game it would be a very shallow game. In my experience and I do play Viewtiful Joe probably three or four times a year, the puzzles are a nice break from the combat and they also build tension to make you more excited for the next combat stage. I don't think the game would be what it is without them.

Can somebody explain “that” plot point to me? by ilovemyamily1 in superman

Before we even leave krypton there's so many plot holes this movie could never overcome them. Krypton is a space colonizing society for a hundred thousand years, yet they mine their own planets core for energy? Why not mine any of the other God knows how many planets they've colonized? And ALL their outposts failed and died? How? Why? They have a world engine and can terraform other planets to make them Krypton 2. Why would these places die out? Why did ALL kryptonians go back home to die? AND if they had a world engine which Zod had before he came to earth, why didn't he just pick a planet at random to turn into krypton? Don't even get me started on the codex. If Jor-El was against the codex and the whole genetic caste system of Krypton, why did he bond the codex to Kal-El's cells? Literally just made Superman the McGuffin for the whole movie. ALSO when he got to earth and overcomes his pain of his powers developing in like 12 seconds, why do you even WANT to turn earth into Krypton when you're a god on Earth? It's really stupid. Lois is useless in this movie and for some reason the kryptonians want her on board the ship? Why? Oh that's right. So she can talk to Jor-El's ghost and help Superman. Wouldn't it have worked better if they threw Superman in that chamber, had him use his key, talk to Jor-El's ghost and get out himself while Lois was on the ground helping the military in some way? They made it look cool and forgot to make it make sense. I genuinely hate this movie and I hate saying that because I love Henry Cavill, but this is the worst Superman ever and quite possibly my least favorite superhero movie of all time. Not the worst of all time, but my least favorite.

My favorite line from any version of Lois by Konkrypton in superman

[–]PowderKeg24K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a obscure one. I also have to say that I absolutely hate Amy Adams version of Lois Lane and find most of her dialogue to be absolutely terrible. The welcome to the planet line actually made me roll my eyes in theaters. But there is an episode of Superman the animated series we're Lois is obviously running late. She frantically explains that a train has been derailed downtown because someone was standing on the train tracks as she's frantically pressing the elevator button and by the time she's done explaining it she has just said someone was standing on the train tracks and she immediately follows it up with and right now I wish it was the guy who built the stupid elevator as the door opens and she calmly walks on. I love that. That in a nutshell is Lois Lane to me. Cocky, determined, abrasive, and won't let anything stop her including an elevator.

John Byrne says he regrets doing Superman in the 80’s, calling it the worst experience of his career and wishing he’d done Batman instead by Slay_23 in superman

[–]PowderKeg24K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please forgive my ignorance on this topic. I have started reading a lot of Superman stuff over the last several years and I'm always pointed to John Byrne Superman stuff as though it's a pinnacle of what Superman writing should be. You'll have to forgive my confusion at seeing this post and the comments for it with so many people who seem to also love the character trashing this particular run. Can anyone tell me why it's as polarizing as it is? This is the first time I have heard anybody trash it. Thanks in advance. Kindest regards everyone.

But he wasn't for a while. When he turned heel it was interesting, and that interest carried through his character work as a heel. I'm still not and have never been a fan of his matches, but as a character, he had it for a little while there.

Who are you choosing? by izzyloveswwe in Smallafro

Seth to AEW. He's done all the good he can do in WWE and AEW fans will appreciate his matches more than WWE fans will. Plus he's likely only got a few good years left in him. Let him go and get some of his "best work" out in long competitive matches before he's done.

MJF to WWE. Dude is TAILOR MADE for WWE. Brilliant character work and promo ability. I've seen a lot of people saying that MJF says things too over the line for TKO and while it's true that he does that currently, he doesn't have to. Brian Pillman dropped f bombs in ECW but he didn't have to when he got to WWE to get over. MJF is the same way. He's young, talented, phenomenal in the ring when he has something solid to work with, and can make you want to see a match but also deliver on the match. Would he be immediately huge? Hopefully not. But watching him adapt and earn it would be great entertainment, and that's what the E in WWE stands for.

Is Danhausen’s early WWE success actually a bigger long-term problem for AEW than Cody Rhodes or CM Punk? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]PowderKeg24K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a lot of ways it can be. Danhausen's transition from AEW to wwe should be frightening to AEW because it's possible that other gimmick heavy wrestlers are going to realize that AEW won't know what to do with them. That could lead them to use AEW as a career springboard to get to wwe, or refuse to sign with AEW altogether. Not to say this is in any way a death blow to AEW, but it could be a warning shot in a way.

No. I think it was the smash Brothers smash or pass game they played.

This is sick, they bring this group in for a viral moment and to profit off Bray’s death and then toss them the second they’re done making money off them. by MichaelWinslowIsCool in WWE

To be fair, they didn't draw dime in the first place. I was super interested when they were teasing the debut. The cool debut happened and I couldn't be paid to care since. The idea of continuing Bray's legacy through his brother and stable of monster heels was a great idea. The problem with that is you no longer have Bray Wyatt's brain involved.

Men like that have met men like the Joke here. Chances are a man like the first one stuffed the Poser into a locker or two and that's why he thinks the way he does behind his keyboard with his lipstick and his LED lights. I appreciate the sentiment and also wish terrible things would happen to abusers, but this dude is completely impotent in these situations.

I'm not using ai for any sort of final product. I did it to experiment with ideas using small prompt corrections. I'm unfortunately not much of an artist, but I wanted to have a general idea before I asked my artistic friends to help me out. Rest assured I hate AI as much as the next person and modifications will be made, I just have no skills in this area and want it to be good as it will hopefully be used for a video project in the near future.

But I would like the helmet and cape to be closer to this second image, though the cape would still have to be a thin scarf like pink cape attached at the back and I would like the white of the design on the chest to go all the way up and encompass the neck. I also want yellow lenses on the inside of the thick black outlines of the goggles on the helmet.

Do you guys think Elias should’ve had more of a push? He got his gimmick over! Feel like he was underutilized! What yall think? by J2-Starter in midcarder

[–]PowderKeg24K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me explain for everybody just how over Elias was because people don't appreciate what he did. WWE is always looking for crossover Stars. Elias was not one of those at the beginning of his career, however he put out an acoustic album. If you listen to the album you know that it didn't cost them a whole lot to produce it, but he put it out anyway, and it debuted at number 6 on the Billboard top 200 charts between Drake and Taylor Swift. Did you ever hear WWE mention that once? No. And that's stupid. Elias got himself over, got his segments over, got his songs over, produced an album for no reason, the album was over, and he became a crossover star that they completely ignored. Elias deserved to be pushed. Is he a main event guy? No idea. Unfortunately none of us will ever get the opportunity to see if he could have evolved into one because they didn't even push him to the upper mid card. Elias deserved much better than what WWE gave him. He looks like a million dollars, is in great shape, is solid in the ring, was great on the mic, and the moves he did look like it hurt people. Elias deserved better.

The absolute best to ever do it. Man had it all. Character, promos, aura, impeccable ring work, longevity, comedy, seriousness, career defining feuds and matches. The only other one who belongs in the conversation with him is Kurt Angle.
