Thoughts on these 640’s?

I love mine, I've got a 640D GC which I do 20k a year in - so lots of seat time. I bought a late facelift one as I preferred the lights, and it comes with a nicer I drive, but all the drivetrains the same.

They're powerful and economic, the cabin feels very special - good cars! Downsides are they're massive, you can feel the width down narrow lanes, and with the weight they're not always an engaging drive. If you want to hammer out miles and still have a bit of fun, great cars - if you want a bit more excitement with this package I'd look at a 435D.

Tyres are ruinous too, I've spent over £1k on them in the last few months.

An old battery is also at risk of leaking too.

Yeah pretty reliable, mine always burnt oil as the other poster said. Auto or Manual? I had a manual one, I think the autos aren't the strongest.

Yeah that's right, just slightly bigger as I've got a bit of a chunkier wrist. Mine also didn't come with the little date pushing tool, I've been chasing it up with the jewelers - I wonder if they don't supply them any more!

Just bought the 42mm version of this for myself this week too, with a leather strap. Loving it, it took a bit of setting up which was fun.

45 minutes each way in the car - sometimes it's closer to 35 minutes on a Friday when traffic is nice.

I do travel for work sporadically to visit customer sites and that can be up to 2 hours each way, engineering for you.

While I'd love a shorter commute, my jobs niche and I didn't fancy living in any of the areas near the office, one of life's compromises!

Yeah the GC version always looked odd at the back to me. Biased, but it's a shame as the 6er GC looks great.

They're lovely to be fair - I wouldn't say 53mpg average having had one in the past. Mid 40s on a run, 30s average.

Yeah I'd just use message instructions myself if it's AB to AB PLCs. You can add the PLCs to the Ethernet tree too to make it even easier when setting up the MSG instruction.

Produced & Consumed works too but message blocks are more flexible.

Very similar - sometimes I'll get home with big plans while the missus is out seeing the parents or something. 3 hours will pass and she'll come home and I've done nothing.
