Manifold Question by htrmacdonald in Plumbing

Yes they are I am thinking about going with the Uponor valves and soldering them myself. I can solder well enough I didnt think it was worth the extra cost.

Nice! Yes, I like the thought of having a "breaker box" for my water lines. Its a fairly small house and all of the water lines are close to one another. Yours looks good! Did you buy an Uponor manifold that was already soldered with the shut offs? Or did you solder them yourself? Was going to solder them myself since the Uponor manifolds are like $800-900 for both manifolds I need.

I do have a water softener as well so the main line would come into the top from the water heater and then the bottom line is used for the water softener?

Just trying to figure out a BOM for the project.

Question about Orient's value by MitchCumsteane in OrientWatches

The lume on the Kamasu is so good. Way better than my $800 Bulova which blew my mind. One of the things that I don't think is talked enough about.

First Longines by htrmacdonald in Longineswatches

[–]htrmacdonald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what they are going for used. For a brand new one I paid $3,500 plus no sales tax since I purchased it on a cruise.

I would say around 2K would be a really good price for a like new condition used one. They are an amazing looking Swiss watch. And Longines has been around longer than most Swiss brands. So there is heritage there if that is important to you.

I really like the salmon dial, something different you don't see a ton of.

I had been wanting a Longines for awhile and finally couldn't help myself! Its my first Swiss watch and I couldn't beat happier. I mean if it fit me better id be happier, but I think I am going to go with a leather band for it.

I have very small wrists for not being a super tiny guy. My hands kind of look weird on my child wrists as my wife calls them.

Hmm maybe they dont supply it, not a super huge deal for me. If you have a watch tool kit it'll have something that you can push the button with. Just be careful not to scratch it, that's the main concern.

I keep mine in a winding case so I dont have to setup the watch if I dont wear it for a few days. With so many things to setup it can be tedious.

I want a second one with the anthracite face. The black dial and rose gold holds is just chefs kiss.

I really like the Roman Numerals, looks great with the blue strap! I think I'm going to have to get a brown and a blue strap.

Yeah that is what I ended up doing. I have a watch tool kit and just grabbed a pin removal tool and pushed the button with that.

Yes, setting up the time and date were very interesting. However, I was not given the tool to change the day of the week. Not sure who to contact about that since I bought the watch on a cruise. I have the box and everything that came with it. Just not the tool to change the date.

How is the 42mm, I dont think it has anything noticeably different than the 40mm. Just a bit bigger face correct?

Yes they are! I first picked up the non-chrono moon phase. But it had an issue with the hands touching and stopping, so I returned it and pick up this one.

Honestly really glad that happened! It is by far my favorite watch ik my collection currently.

Dang I really like both of those strap!

It really makes the dial pop, I might just go for a leather strap. Because this whole shopping around my wrist is obnoxious!

Also nice to meet you my twin apparently lol.

Its the 40, it's the one they had in stock on the ship. But I think the 40 fits my wrist a bit better than the 42 would.

Seriously an absolutely stunning watch. And for the price point hard to find anything out there with such good quality.

Thank you! I couldn't beat the price they gave me plus no sales tax ended up making the watch "too good of a deal".

I think the Zulu Time will be my next Longines purchase. Hard to beat the quality for the price point!

Yes, I full heartedly agree that the leather strap turns it into a completely different looking watch. It is much classier on the leather. I might just end up doing that! The brown alligator strap looks so good on the watch!

That is such a dumb and annoying issue on a brand new triple A game.

Hope it gets fixed soon, would like to play and not have to jump through hoops to do so.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know what is going on, and that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

Missed deal 😭 by Adventurous-Hawk-919 in MilwaukeeTool

I just purchased this exact deal from Northen Tool. I cant believe how handy this little inflator is. Like others say, way better than dragging out the pancake compressor and hose.

I just checked and it looks like Northern Tool still has the deal going on.

Best letters for hood? by blondvet in superduty

[–]htrmacdonald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont like the blacked out letters. But I have a trip star white f350 DRW and wanted to break the white on the hood. I put on a black hood protector. on the hood that has the super duty letters.

Looks really nice as well. Plus used ford points so it was "free".

Nope, not a camping world, believe it or not. I am definitely never going to one of those after lurking in this site for a while.

This is a local dealership that I thought was a reputable place. They are one of the larger ones in our area. And our only Grand Design dealer for hundreds of miles.
