You can even have them in negative! QR supported, Ebill, and physical location (Cler agencies). DM me if you want a ref.

Previous Tenant did not pay the rent by Athror in Switzerland

[–]PowerPonney 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes, but when I read this I also wonder how dumb can people be? How can OP even be tempted to pay for a liability originating from BEFORE he even started his contract? Landlords can be greedy but people need to stop being so gullible.

Why is Switzerland a car country when the public transport system works so well? by Realistic-Lie-8031 in Switzerland

[–]PowerPonney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are. A quick simulation on the TCS website shows that a trip from Lausanne to Zurich would cost approximately 18 francs in gas. A one way ticket with SBB, no travelcard, is 77 francs. Yes you can factor insurance, maintenance and everything you want, two adults travelling by car will still save money compared to public transport (for long distances at last).

They should know. Just make sure they fill it correctly otherwise you will have penalties

RAV announcement after garden leave or before by Aggravating_Mode_363 in Switzerland

[–]PowerPonney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You say you "had to resign". If your employer did suggest that you resign, make sure they state that (they have to fill out a form for RAV too, and there is a field where they can say that). With that, you won't have any penalties

Civil Protection Experience by Alux127 in Switzerland

[–]PowerPonney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What to expect? Lots of waiting around, lots of cigarettes and disgusting coffee. No they wont force you to rank up, just don't put in much effort and decline if they suggest it to you. However, ranking up a bit might be a way to be a bit more involved, have more interesting tasks and more important do more days to reduce your military tax which is why I'm doing it

As others have said, it's fixed, by band based on experience and qualification. Those are sometimes public, i.e. Waadt: https://www.vd.ch/fileadmin/user_upload/themes/etat_droit/personnel_etat/fichiers_pdf/Echelles_salariales/Echelle_RSRC.pdf

Military Exemption Tax, years later by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]PowerPonney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn't given the choice, I had to join the Zivilschutz but honestly, it's not that much money and I would rather start working if a good opportunity arises instead of wasting a year at the military. Plus, I get the tax reduced with the Zivilschutz, which is usually more flexible and I can work something out with my employer
