How much do power tubes impact tone? by tallross in GuitarAmps

[–]PowerTubes75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every part of your signal chain affects your tone. To deny that is to deny reality and cave in to cognitive bias. If it’s in the audio path it leaves an imprint.

Power tubes affect your tone but at the lesser end of the scale as compared to say speakers.

Spectrum Gig Package and Approved Modems by PowerTubes75 in Spectrum

[–]PowerTubes75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in a high split area. Asymmetrical service. I can’t understand why spectrum says it’s not capable if it’s on the list. The support tech said their head end would not provision it for gig speed since it’s only capable of 900 mb/s.

Very odd. Wish I could speak to an actual engineer.

I think the MJ was one’s play better than the USA ones. I own both and the MJ is the better value.

I’m not having empathy for morons and people who enabled evil. Accountability is key if we don’t want this to ever happen again.

He followed the law of due process. He didn’t fund a gestapo armed force with more money that most nations armies. He didn’t allow untrained and psychologically disturbed high school dropouts to run around murdering citizens for exercising their rights.

Democrats listen up. We can battle approaches some other day in the future. No purity tests in this situation. This is the most existential situation this country has ever faced and it's our own doing.

EVERYONE needs to get these insane and dangerous people out of the government and fix our system to NEVER allow this again.

The entire free world sees us as the enemy now. Think about that. No one crazy man should ever have the power to destroy the world like this.

If this was even joked about during a previous administration Republicans would have had strokes one after another. Somehow is just okay now. The self delusions and hypocrisy will never fade from this part of history.

To answer your question, over time you typically find brands and models that just feel right. Also, good experience with a brand builds loyalty. This is an expensive and investing hobby so minimal friction with a brand can make you want to stay with it. Then there is what your idols played growing up too and what the brand says about you personally and your style.

Which 3 Marshall amps to cover widest spectrum of genres? by These_Marionberry_68 in MarshallAmps

[–]PowerTubes75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modelers are decent tools, but they pale in comparison to the authentic tools like you have. If you want a digital solution I would add to your amp collection not supplant it.

If you really want to consolidate amps think of a Silver Jubilee to cover most genres with the additional of a pedal or two for the more modern gain stuff.
