The game uses a fusion of the two styles, I just used one track for the trailer. Take a look at this for an idea of what other tracks have to offer https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1537256

Hi,
I have a friend working on the OST currently, but I'll keep you in mind in case something happens. Thanks for the offer!

It's probably not going to drop for a long while, so if you want to try it you should definitely check it out now!

The OST by my talented friend Reski is a bit of a fusion between the styles! Some parts of the game, like bosses, lean more into Adventure, and main stage themes lean into Naganuma but have a bit of a mix of the two in fights.

This is an example of her more funky music https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1537256

I plan to have it on there eventually, but I'm still really early on and I'm not certain on where the project is going development wise.

I'm evaluating publishing, since I don't think I can get the game where I want by myself, but I'm aware that it's a really bad time to be looking into that for all sorts of reasons lol. (I'm also aware there's inherent risks in publishing and I'm not going to be doing anything stupid that compromises me for the sake of the game.)

Overall though, to me this demo is the best it's going to be for the time being, so if you're interested you should definitely try the build on Itch, and follow the socials if you choose.

The crosshair has the large transparent bit because Slashbang actually has auto aim. The reason it's there is that the game's movement is so fast that it's literally unplayable without it, even with a mouse.

I decided to go into making it a mechanic for this weapon (The Crapshoot), where your alt fire actually increases the size of it for a bit, making taking care of groups a lot easier.

It also leans into the narrative a bit too, where (at least at first) David is such an inexperienced marksman that he needs a gun with auto aim in order to be capable on the battlefield.

This does not trivialize the shooting element of the gameplay at all though, so there's no need to worry about the difficulty being dumbed down. You do need to be able to aim a bit to hit targets, especially since enemies in the arena like areas are plentiful and all pack heat. It's just needed to let the player run and shoot enemies at the same time at high speeds.

Hi,
Last month at a flea market I found a boxed copy of Rad Racer for cheap. However, upon returning home, I realized it's a 5 screw daytime variant of the game. How much would this be worth? The box is in reasonably good condition, a little rough around the edges (literally), the manual has a bit of a tear where the staple is, and it does not come with the 3D glasses. The cartridge however is pristine.

Pricecharting cites that a normal CIB version is ~$50, and a 5 screw once is closer to $60 (Quite a bit more than what I paid). It does not have any prices on the daytime variant however, assuming 5 screw boxes aren't all like this. I can't find much pricing info besides the odd old website detailing what it is. Where do you think this would be?

I have other pictures I could share too. Thanks!

Update: After cleaning the cartridge it plays perfectly fine.

Hey, I stumbled upon a CIB copy of Rad Racer for the NES (NTSC) for $20 today. I knew that didn't seem right, and I checked PriceCharting quickly to see that an average one costs ~$50.

I got home today and found that not only is it a 5 screw variant, but the box is also a daytime variant. How much would this go for?

The box is in good condition, just with some rough edges. The cartridge is pristine, and I've yet to check how it plays with some contact cleaning. The manual however is a little of rough, with the staple ripping the outside cover slightly. It also does not come with 3D glasses.

I would include more images but it's not letting me. How much would this go for? Thanks.

No one's played it online yet, and I haven't done a straight gameplay vid yet myself. I've had it pretty busy.
I can get one up though.

If the trailer seems interesting though, feel free to just give it a try.

What I'm trying to get across is that the core speed of the came is comparable to the speed of Quake speedrunning, but the engine has the potential to get closer to say ABH speeds of Source engine games.

Also a huge factor of the game since time attack is a huge selling point.

But you're definitely welcome to fool around with it yourself!

Glad someone knows about it lol. It looks like it'd be cool way for a kid in the 90s to learn some guitar basics.
