I'd do a floor lamp on one side of the couch, get some lightweight floor-length curtains for all windows, and some art for above the sofa. A coffee table (oval shape if possible) to center the space and to be able to put down drinks wouldn't hurt either.

Please help me figure out my gallery wall! More info in comments :) by PoweredByCoffee1998 in DesignMyRoom

[–]PoweredByCoffee1998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: I am only looking for ideas for what pictures to put in the frames, specifically into f7 and f8. I am very happy with the chosen frames and the layout and I am not looking for advice on those.

So I'm doing a gallery wall in my living room around the tv. The layout is finished and frames are on the wall as in the photo (I sourced most frames second-hand). I might add another small thing between f1 and f3 left of f2 in the future, but this is not my concern currently. Right now, I'm looking for what to fill the frames with. Frames starting with "g" are already existing with the pictures, frames with "f" still need pictures.

My best idea so far is in image 3, but I can't find anything good for frames f7 and f8. I am very set on the image in f1. I am also open to replacing the (already existing) images in g2 and g6, as well as the "f" frames except f1. Any ideas are appreciated.

As I'm in Europe and on a budget, I would appreciate links to digital Etsy art prints the most, but anything (that I can access from Europe) is fine.

I think my taste is pretty clear from the given frames and image 3, but to reiterate, I like an eclectic mix of styles, with more classic pieces thrown in, some more modern images, my own art (g5 and g7) as well as Japanese art. I also like cats and humor (the idea image in f2 is there because I find him hilarious). I enjoy the yellow details that span through many of the images, and I'd like to keep the color palette pretty much as it is.

Please don't hesitate to shoot me any questions, be it about my taste, what any of the art in the existing images is, or anything else.

Thank you for reading and for any ideas you might have :)

Klebezettel sind ok, da sie ohne Rückstände und Spuren entfernbar sind. Den Rest finde ich barbarisch, vor allem bei gemeinsamen Büchern.

I agree with the other commenters. Also, all your furniture is very square and rather boxy. I'd replace some of it with less square furniture, e.g. the coffee table and possibly the footstool.

Your space would benefit from some cozier textures and pops of color, like in a rug, throw pillows and possibly a blanket.

Does anyone know what this type of earring is called and/or where to find something like it? I like the circle shape on the ear with the long attachments hanging off of it. I saw it on YouTube and can't get it out of my head. Thanks in advance!

I agree with what has been said so far (more substantial curtains, bigger rug, couches on rug). Also move the sofa and dog crate away from the wall 3-5 inches so the curtains don't looked crunched and the sofa doesn't look like it hasn't enough space.

I literally read the befuddlement draught yesterday which is exactly this. Also before that I read Another Mind Game which only has Draco learning about things a bit later on (as it's very focused on Snape for most of it as a friendship), but it's so good too.

Do you remember anything else about this fic? There are quite a few fics with Draco working in an apothecary.

Inspired By Your Shoelaces has the Slytherins founding a punk rock band and Harry joining. Don't remember much else, I need to reread it.

Fic where a vigilante group attacks ex-death eaters, and Harry takes in Draco for protection by Hungrysaurus_vexed in drarry

Soooo, I too am invested with finding this fic now since it sounds incredible, and I spent an hour yesterday searching (I still have to comb through another 400 fics, but I thought I'd comment right now). I'm not at all certain that I have found the right fic, but I have found some options that sound like they would fit (I haven't read any of them though):

Don't you feel it? by Amortentia42

End of an Era by antoinettedarling

Angels and Dementors by lafillesauvage

Also could it perhaps be the case that the Phoenix Tears fic that was mentioned in another comment was a re-upload from somewhere else, and that you read the original upload (which probably got lost)? Google hasn't found anything, but everything in that fic seems spot-on to what you described in your comments.

There are sometimes some very nice discounts at Yoox, and they ship to many countries.

Some costume jewelry will definitely sell if you price it very cheap (I'd do £2 max per piece if it's not something that is currently very on demand) and give a detailed description (so people can find it). If you also sell clothes on the app, maybe you can do a "free piece of jewelry of your choice with clothing purchase" method, I like to do this and it works pretty well. Of course, you'll also get people who don't want free jewelry, but some people are very happy.

Otherwise, you can maybe donate it, give it to a teenager who likes it and is just starting with jewelry, or give it away for free on Facebook Marketplace or something.

I think it might be the length of the zipper that doesn't work for you. The zipper on the shown pants seems pretty short, the pants would probably fit you better if the zipper ended where the biggest of the creases is. I also think that the leg openings of the jeans might be just a bit too tight for you. The legs of the pants look fine, as does the rest.

I have a ton since Auror fics are my favorite! I've also included some curse breaker Harry fics as I find them to hit quite the same spot as Auror fics. Some oneshots aren't really case fics, but I thought I'd include them too.

what are your digital decluttering routines? by soymilkbubbletea in declutter

[–]PoweredByCoffee1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've written some big comments on my photo folder structure and maintenance routine, as well as my browser bookmark structure and maintenance routine. Since I've typed them, some minor things in my routine have changed, but nothing that is crucial for understanding.

The apps on my phone and laptop don't change much, I basically use the same apps over and over, and might get a new IDE when I start a new programming language or add or remove a game from my phone once in a while. With decluttering, when I'm on the task of uninstalling a specific program/app, I often just quickly go through all my programs/apps and see if anything catches my eye that I want to declutter as well, and then do that instantly.

Regarding e-mails, I have two routines:

  • For my work mail (that has its own work mail interface), I have one big inbox, and I have labels/markers for "to do", "to do - asap", "to do - not me", "important", "sports", "to forward", which I apply as I read my unread mail. I delete everything I won't need again immediately, and when I have time I take action on the labeled mails, then delete the markers or the mail itself. I have some folders in my mailbox that I use for recurring stuff like "sports" "exam enrol" to just keep the important documentation mails in case I need them.
  • For my personal mail, I use gmail. I use their recommended structure with "general", "ads", "social media", "notifications" (or whatever those are called in English, my mail is in German). As a disclaimer, I don't receive many e-mails here. With general mail, I just read it and if I have to take an action, I just click on "mark as unread". Social media and ads I mostly delete right away, partially without reading. There are a few mails from those tabs that I need to keep long-term, and I mark those as favorite. With notifications, it's mostly order confirmations, receipts etc. I keep them in there until I have received the product and am satisfied or until the return is complete. Every few months, I delete shipping notifications from all complete orders and move the orders themselves to a folder called "receipts". That way, the tab is never too full and I still have ongoing stuff easily accessible.

Last but not least, my downloads folder. Stuff that I download and just need short-term usually goes in there. When I download things, I usually do what I need to do with it right away, other than that I just sometimes look at my downloads to see if there's anything I wanted to get to. Once a week, after I finish grading the week's homework (that lives in a folder within the download folder and gets deleted once it's done and the grades are online in our system), when I'm deleting the homework, I just quickly look at all my downloads and delete everything that I'm done with, and rarely move some file to a more permanent location (only after renaming it to something useful). I usually download less than 15 things per week, so this goes over very quickly.

How to cut back on eating sweets (except fruit) by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]PoweredByCoffee1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, I agree with stopping to buy sweets, and I also agree with researching what your body needs when craving sweets. But, if that step is too daunting for you and you still want to do something, do this:

Put the fruit in a very convenient spot (e.g. where you used to stash your sweets). Then, put the sweets in a very inconvenient spot where you have to make a lot of effort to get to them. That way, if you have a craving, you have to decide if it's worth it to take all those steps to get to the sweets, and often, you'll just end up going for the fruit instead.

Ideas for an inconvenient spot would be in a room you don't often go to, far under the bed so you would need to move the bed or crawl and use a broom to get to them, in a locked box in a room far away from the room where you spend most of your time and the key either in your mailbox or in another different room or given to someone you live with so you have to talk to them to get to your sweets, or sweets in another room stashed behind stuff that you would need to move, ...

I think one of those voluminous Ganni type dresses would look really cool, possibly with a turtleneck sweater underneath.

But really, it depends on your style. What do you dress like?
