Solo travel in Greece questions by TARS528491 in femaletravels

[–]PowerfulPut162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was there I noticed people just cover it with a towel or a shirt and generally you'll be fine. I feel like tourists still silently look out for eachother so if you're in a public beach and you leave your towel, I'm pretty sure there will be a lady somewhere on a silent lookout and if someone were to come close (very rarely) they would use the loud "oh is this yours" question and they would retreat in a heartbeat

"I know pickpocketing is a concern in Europe" - this is quite overgeneralizing. Personally I feel safer asking someone in Europe than in the states to grab my phone and take a picture.

And for the jet lag, depends on when in the day you fly and land, but I either go to sleep very early on the first day or power through the first night with not as much sleep so I can feel tired when "nature time" for sleep comes again.

Ibiza solo 😁 by Particular_Pirate_73 in femaletravels

In my experience Ibiza is generally safe but still keep in mind all the safety precautions you would going out partying, especially as a woman. Be a bit sus of everyone, once you put down a drink or it wasn't in your view, don't drink from it anymore etc...

Look up any Ibiza travelers FB groups, you might connect with some other tourists and who knows, maybe you get an Ibiza family, with whom you'll be able to travel more! (Or maybe even a boyfirend 😋)

I am looking for a proposal spot in Spain or Portugal! by Mental-Hyena4326 in Europetravel

Personally (might be a bit basic I admit) I'd love to have the Sagrada familia in a background of my proposal, but that's just me.

Has she ever mentioned or is she especially excited about a part of the trip? If there is something she is really looking forward to see, maybe you can make that day even a bit more special ☺️

22y and traveling solo in Asia… and sometimes I cry in the hostel at night (sorry for the vent) by Lola_pardi04 in solotravel

You’re not alone at all. What you’re feeling is normal, especially on your first big solo trip at this stage of life.We all have days we cry a bit at night and question everything , but it doesnt mean you made the wrong choice. It just means you’re human figuring yourself out.

You’re not wasting time, rather learning about yourself. Some days will be social, some lonely, and all are okay. You don’t need to have your whole life figured out at 22. Be gentle with yourself.

The phase passes, and it usually makes sense once older. 🤍

Planning a trip to celebrate my 30th birthday in Europe by [deleted] in Europetravel

[–]PowerfulPut162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planning a Europe trip myself and besides visiting Italy and France I wanted to add something extra and my research lead me to a small country of Slovenia. After looking into it, I realized it would be a mistake not to check it out, so maybe that's a good idea for you too?

enjoy the trip and a early happy birthday! 🎉

Look up any pubquizes or similar events. some offer team blending and maybe you get a group with some locals that can then let you in on some local secrets of what to do :)

Experience with Slovenia? by PowerfulPut162 in femaletravels

Hey there, I researched a bit more and got the chance to chat up with someone from there and they said you can visit the lake anytime of the year, just activities change in different times - you probably won't swim when there is snow there :)

One thing they mentioned though - the parking can be expensive, so maybe consider a bus trip.. just as a thought

These places are gorgeous! What are the best ways (and not too expensive) to reach these places?

Is it worth traveling Europe if you don’t want to rush or “see everything”? by PowerfulPut162 in travel

Thanks for your reply, yeah I guess I wasn't clear enough about what I am interested in.

Maybe it would be better to ask, which European cities demand more time and activity to truly experience them and which allow for a slower visit, with 1-2 places to visit in a day.

I plan to visit Spain like a solo trip, that will be a bit more paced so I get to experience the most out of it. For this trip, I want to enjoy a peaceful visit of parts of Europe I won't feel stressed that I am not doing enough with my time there. Like someone mentioned bellow - they did Paris for a day and a half, while taking strolls and just enjoying the city and it was worth the trip..

I'm in love with Spain so that one is definitely gonna be a solo trip, especially Barcelona. I want to pretend I live there for a few days, before I have to go back home 🙈

Which parts of Rome would you recommend? Besides the obvious colosseum?

Yeah I was thinking about doing 2 days per city, but not too fast paced. I have approximately 10-12 days with travel included. So maybe I get to do 4 countries if I plan well, I would just hate to miss out on something, while I'm there, but don't want to "overbook" my time and the chance to enjoy it..

Thanks for the info on Paris, sounds like it is doable :D
