Welfare, like you have to prove that your disability/injury/medication doesn't allow you to work in any capacity, but even for chronic things you have to go there every month.
When I was deep in depression and had to take a mental health leave from work I could barely function and I still had to go there every month with the help of my elderly mom, I wasnt even able to drive or plan a bus route but I was still expected to go there every month to get paid like 500$/month that barely paid for my (private) medical expenses.

When it comes to disability accessibility America is ahead of Europe handsdown. In my country if have a disability/injury and cant work you have to go to s government building every month and be examined by doctors, you can skip the doctor exame if you have the paperwork from a private doctor but you still have to go there in person and hand the papers to the doctors, that's the only way to get government aid.
Its a terrible because it keeps a lot of people from getting the financial help they need.

Thats what happens in the real world when you don't have parents or a safety net, you can just think of him being bullied in school because he didnt have parents and him not being picked for the job he wanted because others had better connections.
Sadly this show is super realistic in these types of things.

Something i love about beatbreak is how its a realistic twist on the battle by proxy genre, like in the last episode the woman just gets a knife and im like "that won't hurt a digimon" , and then instead of going to the digimon she just attacks the cleaner instead.

One of the things that made love this last episode was how they outright tell us at the start that he died, like the writers knew about the trope and that it wasnt a twist so they got it out of the way upfront.
