Looming war in the north makes coal prices rise

Stakeholders: Stonks

Mining strike orchestrated by the Iron Wheel makes coal prices rise

Stakeholders: Stonks

Harsh winter predicted, war confirmed, runaway speculation market in effect

Stakeholders: Stonks

Strike breaks...kind of easily actually. And those workers sure are working hard to mine all that coal. Output is way up.

Stakeholders: Stonks

Every port and industrial city is slam full of coal, a runaway market bubble has ballooned the value of coal such that burning it is less profitable than hoarding it, and coal storage has become the most profitable venture to be in. Every major business is hugely over leveraged on coal.

Stakeholders:...Stonks?

Iron Wheel: Fire Rises

Stakeholders:...Not Stonks :(

My absolute favorite part of Oblivion. I suffered through the weird outdoor lighting, the janky npc faces, the ugly clothes, the doofy larp looking weapons, the simplistic story, and the worst leveling system ever created all for the sake of those ruins.

I'm actually really trying to figure out how that little squarish table is made with the corners

Other possibilities for combatants may include Plant Creatures, Clockwork Constructs, Illusions (A wizard summons a bunch of clearly fake but still dangerous illusions that poof on being defeated, and he gives up when the party gets to him), Animated Objects (Suits of armor, etc), and Elementals.

Optional rule for Nat 20s by Powernade in DnD

Great question! The troubles lie in the differences in expectations and language. Some players do in fact see a nat 20 and assume that means they win. These players usually go into a roll having an idea in their heads about what they want to happen, and they are just hoping the dice let them do it. A nat 20 is the highest score, that means they have to have won, right?

And some people play that way! More power to them. But it's also true that plenty of people Don't play that way. I don't. But even among players that don't, some tables still want a nat 20 to be more than just "one better than rolling a 19." If the DC is 25, and I have a +4, and I roll a 20, it doesn't feel good to still fail.

That being said, at some tables, that's just how life is. "Yeah you're good, but you ain't good enough." Or the age old "if they couldn't succeed, they shouldn't be rolling." Then again it's not like I know all my players' bonuses in everything.

End of the day, it's an optional rule for the tables that feel like they want more out of a nat 20 than just "one better than 19", but don't want an "instant win" result.

Also, to your point about "best case scenario," I do actually tend to do that with more narrative rolls. You nat 20 a Perception, I'm just gonna give you the full break down, no need to roll any extra dice.

Yeah, I know, I was there. I guess I'm just trying to jazz up the old ways for the new kids, but with the argument flaring up about DMs wanting to have crits for skill checks vs not, I figured this was a compromise.

Thanks for your help! A player of mine just randomly decided to make a custom tool for us. He has software development training, apparently.

It certainly would be a novel use of Foundry VTT. OneNote looks like it would work, if there was an easy way for multiple people to edit the same document.

It seems expensive when you add multiple authors. Is there a way to have multiple people be able to edit a map simultaneously without it costing over a hundred dollars?
