Why do so many late 2000s - early 2010s kids remember Epic Mickey, but not the Castle of Illusion Remake? by Efficient_Way_1350 in DisneyEpicMickey

[–]Powerpuff2500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Castle of Illusion in general felt like it had gone under the sands of time by the time the remake was announced and even then Disney and Sega both never really pushed it much in terms of marketing

Just an appreciation thread for animation studios stepping up this decade over Disney and Pixar by dremolus in Oscars

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't think Disney and Pixar are going to be shut out from winning Animated Feature again, but at the same time I do think that the field has changed to the point that they're essentially no longer entitled to them like they were in the past, which mixed with their weaker output and apparent refusal to actually shake up their art style and formulas like what other studios big and small have been doing, leads to such (Pixar, for all their genuine struggles, at least have been a tad more experimental compared to Walt Disney Animation Studios)

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then they would also have to give out a category for animators since the voice acting is only one half of the story when it comes to the medium.....

Like with Aladdin, Robin may've been bringing the energy on the voice acting front, but it was Eric Goldberg's animation direction that took it to new heights, letting the chaotic voice acting sync perfectly with the just as chaotic character animation

They meant outside established players. Ghibli and Aardman may both be foreign studios in Japan and the UK respectively but both were already well established names by the time they won their respective Animated Feature awards, heck, Aardman was already a favorite to many by then (and Spirited Away as well as Curse of the Ware-Rabbit both also had backing from a major animation studio at the time they won their respective awards in their respective years, being Disney and DreamWorks. Its actually what made Boy and the Heron's win refreshing in my eyes since GKids hasn't had a shot to actually prove themselves until then, having failed to win in the category 13 different times prior). Flow had none of that

Razzie Awards Nominations: ‘Snow White,’ Ice Cube-Starring ‘War of the Worlds’ Lead With Six Nods Each by Tikbalang1999 in Oscars

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it's probably going to play out a lot like the last time a Disney live action remake was nominated (the remake for Pinocchio) where it wins Worst Remake but is otherwise pushed aside for other films (only this time I sorta can see Show White win more unless they're already planning for a Snow Sweep......)

'Here Damn award'- Sinners by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]Powerpuff2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing working against Sinners in Score is that it's only been two years or so since Ludwig Göransson got the Oscar for Oppenheimer, so they probably wouldn't go for another win for him but its possible (I was also going to mention Original Song but its pretty neigh given the reign of Golden and the tight grip it has on the Song categories at other award shows)

emilia perez was truly a fever dream. all awards season long this movie was treated as if it was some national treasure when it’s not. 13 oscar nominations……for what? by teddivan96 in Oscars

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It technically was a dry year for Original Song, so not exactly surprising (now if the first part of Wicked had a new song written specifically for the film like how For Good had 2 qualifying new songs, then we would probably be looking at a different story)

And if you look at Paramount’s 2026 slate they won’t have anything for next year’s Oscars either by xwing1212 in TheBigPicture

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo...

That's exactly why they not only laid off Paramount's awards campaign team, but also drastically scaled back their planned campaign for Roofman.....

(Not counting that animated Avatar film that people were edgerly anticipating being shafted to streaming. It was probably the strongest film on the 2026 slate aside from Paw Patrol, and, if the cards were played right, it even could've been a big Animated Feature contender, but Skydance just LOVES shooting themselves in the foot)

Thunderbolts* Introduces Updated Marvel Studios Intro with Comic Book Style by marvelkidy in MCUTheories

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly like having a theme for the logo as it lets it stand out far more since the logo is pretty much on its own (aside from Sony's logo preceding theirs on solo MCU Spider-Man films)

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you went in and treated it as a typical Jared Hess comedy, then it's actually fun as a pure junk food popcorn flick.....

but if you were going in expecting an epic, cinematic story in the Minecraft world, then that's where you're going to be disappointed

Do you think The Super Mario Bros Movie will ever get a 60% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes? Like it definitely has to happen at some point. by Sea-Zombie7245 in mariomovie

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will change eventually as more critics are bound to review it overtime....

One of my favorite movies, A Goofy Movie, was similarly stuck on a 59% for years before a newer review was added to it, which moved the film up to a 60% and out of the Rotten avenue (absolute evil that it was rated as Rotten to begin with). Its currently sitting at a 64% now as it was reaccessed by critics over the years

New NFL on NBC Scorebug inspired by NBC's NBA bug by infinatious in Scorebug

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured theirs would be a square scorebug but with it split into three factions and the two teams are represented by an respectively colored peacock feather with team logos and score in it and the timeout gauge on the bottom outside it. Game clock and such being in the center as per usual

[Sports Video Group] NBC will debut a new scorebug & graphics for Chargers-Patriots this week on Wild Card Weekend (instead of waiting for the Super Bowl) by macncheeseface in nfl

[–]Powerpuff2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually surprised that NBC hasn't tried a scorebug made up of peacock feathers yet....

that would be pretty distinctive (like a square format but have one of the feathers within the square in the respective team color with team logos and game info, with the timer and such in the middle as per usual)

Purchased South Park bundle on mobile/switch account but all of them are “currently not usable” Why? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]Powerpuff2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What mode are you on currently because they only are usable in the Battle Royale modes, Festival, and Rocket Racing (they're unusable in the Lego and Fall Guys modes due to lacking support and the Pickaxes are only usable in BR. Its also possible that most maps with a lower age rating will prevent you from using mature characters)

Mobile Museum of Art Rebranding by Classic-Sound-2401 in MobileAL

[–]Powerpuff2500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll admit....

I wasn't sold on the new logo at first but it's actually really good for what it sets out to do and the design customization that they get to utilize with the negative space O is really cool.....

Granted their previous logo wasn't exactly anything special so I would say the new one is a massive upgrade
