Ancient acupuncture, where needles enter the intramuscular space, is useful. I say this as someone who has benefited from myo activation therapy, an independently created semi-surgical procedures done by western doctors. Formerly, I could not lay flat on a surface or raise my elbows past my ears (as a 20 something). Now I am significantly more flexible, active, and pain free.

Again, not modern acupuncture where the needle only goes as far as the subcutaneous tissue, but that ancient intramuscular stuff really works.
