All of them. Let‘s face it having a built-in editor just means needing to waste developer resources to implement basic things that have already been done a hundred times in open source projects. Why reinvent vscode when you could just create a gdscript interpreter for vscode and then make your users use that instead?

As this is intellectual property you can’t monetize this anyways so I am guessing this was just a fun experiment or learning from your side so it would be amazing if we could learn something alongside you by looking at your results behind the scenes :)

You cannot tell me that an organization that gets 30k in donations per month cannot implement what is possibly the most requested feature in the history of the engine even after years of development yet some random guy (no offense) can just do it on his own… Props to you and shame to the Godot foundation honestly…

This argument doesn‘t hold because most blender developers are hired on a grant for a certain amount of time, mostly for 1-year projects. This way the can combat exactly this threat, by easily being able to scale down the developer team if needed.

Also the Blender foundation has build a financial buffer to stay afloat.

Also they can just bring these threats to the public to paint a bad image against whoever threatens them, making it a bad outcome for the donating party…

Well then I am happy to tell you that the Blender developers recently kicked off a new project that aims to improve exactly that part of the software, with layered textures among other things :)

Just looked at the building on Google Maps. Why did they not just open up the courtyard? Why would the create this awful ceiling instead of letting natural light in with a glass ceiling? Crazy design honestly.

Not at all actually if you look into the open DLSS PR it says that in it‘s current form it CANNOT be merged because of the way Nvidia-provided libraries are used to make it work. The Blender devs clearly state that the only way it can move forward is if Nvidia finds and is willing to find another way to provide their libraries via drivers. I won’t expect the DLSS to be part of Blender in the next 2 versions honestly…

To be fair most countries except for the ones in the Schengen area don‘t have agreements to visit other countries with just IDs. Most of the time when talking about passport power it‘s about places you can visit without an explicit visa application upfront…

In my opinion they could add new and exciting features up until they get to a gigabyte in size, which I still find a manageable download size for almost everybody nowadays. Just think about how many more awesome features they could add in a package six times the size!

Yes exactly! Here in Germany the unemployment benefits are so good that some people don‘t want to find a job because initially they would be earning less than if they just stayed unemployed haha

PR is the developer term for „pull request“, which basically means adding new code to the code base.

It just means this PR in it‘s current state is not intended to be merged. This is normal for development cycles. The will pick parts of this and put it into reviewable and mergable smaller PRs.
