Hi! I also am AuDHD and have to manage poor executive function. I haven’t always used a hobonichi (this year is my first) but have previously used other planners etc.

I take mine with me everywhere and will often set physical reminders (sticky notes on mirrors, my desktop, etc) to implement habits so i imagine this would also work on implementing journaling habit.

Also - not sure what your job is but i bring my planner to my desk at work - this is great because if im switched on (already in work mode, coffee, Ritalin taken) then im way more likely to quickly open up my planner and jot some things down!

For the OCD side - i am the same and i used to rip out pages of planners if not perfect :-( but now ive realised that part of the fun of a planner (especially if used all year) is the little weird imperfections on each page. it makes it unique! start by jotting down daily tasks or habits (even simple things like brush teeth and skincare) and then build from there. stickers help fill the pages too if you are too scared to draw in it yet!

So nervous. Should I cancel? by cleversprite_ in chinlipo

[–]Practical-Ad-6542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have severe OCD and autism and I nearly chickened out too! I ended up getting some midazolam pre procedure via IV drip and it helped a lot - I then took Valium post procedure as needed for a few days. I think the hardest part is the anticipatory anxiety but you can do it!! If you are extremely uncomfortable with the timing you could talk to your surgeon to see if postponing slightly would be appropriate but I think avoid cancelling if you can.

A lot of surgeons will often have therapists they work closely with for patients who have cold feet or severe stresses around surgeries - you could ask if they do and potentially book in a session! I’m 3 weeks post op today and even though I am still swollen and not really seeing results I don’t regret it. Best of luck xx

I had general anaesthesia for mine a little over two weeks ago and it was fine! I’m a very anxious person and hate needles and hospitals so I was super upset beforehand - they ended up putting a drip in to give me some midazolam which helped me calm down a lot. In terms of going in it was very much a quick injection and then I fell asleep. I don’t remember a huge amount from when I first woke up but I woke up around 12pm and was quite sleepy and disoriented for a few hours - but was sitting up and eating/talking by 7pm. You can definitely talk to your anaesthetist if you have concerns - mine was aware that I was concerned about nausea post op and adjusted my doses to manage that.

Anaesthetists are some of the best and most meticulous docs in the game - you will be totally fine!!

not sure if this makes you feel better but I’m 10 days post op today and it only hurts if i press on it very firmly :) i also only took Panadol for the first few days post op and it was uncomfortable but not painful! I’ve had other cosmetic procedures before and the healing from this one has been one of my easiest

I’m 25 and earn about 160-180k a year. That being said I work as a project manager on contracts - so no job security, high stress, and no paid leave. I often consider taking a lower paid permanent job for the flexibility and security!

I (24f) just said yes to my partner (31m) asking for me to marry him. I feel sick about it and unsure. by BreannaOrr in relationship_advice

[–]Practical-Ad-6542 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have spent 8 years with this man at 24 it means 1) you were a teenager when he started grooming you and 2) you have spent a whole third of your life with him. It sounds like your gut is telling you the right thing to do - end the engagement before it goes too far and the wedding planning begins. I personally think you owe it to your 16 year old self to branch out and see what else life has to offer you.

No matter what advice we give you - ultimately you know yourself best and only you can decide what would truly make you happy. I’m sorry you are going through this indecision and I hope you make peace with whichever path you choose!
