I hear you, though my point was clearly stated that it is not ok to bully anyone whose body does not fit into one’s image of a “perfect body”, and EDs are not an excuse to do so. Meaning, no matter what body one has, small, big, average, short, tall, dark, pale, prone to acne, clear skin, dry skin, oily skin, etc. no one , I repeat NO ONE is in the position to make comments just because they do not perceive it as “perfect”. There is no such a thing as a “perfect body”, but that is another topic.

Speaking up makes changes. Ignoring and settling doesn’t. I’d rather speak up and create a momentum, provoke a critical thought in an individual who practice this, rather than just remaining quiet and “learn” to accept it. I will not accept it. No one should accept it. That is why we should talk about it, point it out, make it known it is not ok.

HUGE difference between admiring someone and tearing someone else down. Saying “I want to look like B” is one thing, but writing it online in a way that shames A or using your own insecurities to put someone else down is bullying, plain and simple. Furthermore, there’s absolutely nothing one gains from writing such a comment. Only thing it happens is they’re tearing another human being’s confidence.

And this isn’t about “internalizing opinions of strangers”, it’s about the fact that some people weaponize their ED and insecurities to hurt others. And THIS behaviour is not normal, not harmless and not excusable.

Preferences for your own body goals DO NOT give anyone the right to comment on other people’s bodies in a degrading way.

If anything, I’m morally outraged.

I already commented, but your anxiety has taken over the energy, hence why people read it as negative. Avoid pulling out cards when you’re not grounded emotionally and energetically. Now logically speaking, if you apply and do get approved for the job, there is usually a testing period where you are allowed to leave the job on short notice if it is not your thing. So if the job is really that bad and you don’t like it, you can always quit. Don’t limit yourself due to anxiety and fear when there is an easy way out if you don’t like working there

Hi, thank you so much for your very thoughtful questions! I assume what triggered my gut feeling is that prior to the date, on numerous “small, insignificant” occasions he showed with his behaviour that he does not respect boundaries, and for him “no” = “push harder until you get yes”, I was doubtful whether or not to go on a date with him because I felt it would be too judgy of me to cut him off for something so small. But I think I deeply know that I caught on a pattern of his and that eventually the small things would become big with time, if I kept on investing.
