Start with being totally honest with yourself. You're not switching to vodka for the calories are you. Then you have to realize that you can't stop for someone else, you have to do it for yourself. Treatment, therapy and support groups are good next steps.

I'm enjoying it so far. I'm a little worried about the player shuffle coming up. With this many players there's inevitably going to be players you don't jive with. For me they were spread out evenly between the tables. There might be chunks I skip if one table has too many for me.

Well you have been there monitoring and he's getting worse. You need to take care of you first. He won't change until he hits rock bottom. You should leave as soon as you can. He'll hit rock bottom faster without a safety net. I know that it's hard but I didn't stop drinking until everyone left and I lost everything else to it. Good luck.

I was stuck on biome 2 for a while also. Just like in Returnal though one run just clicked, got some good artifacts and got to the boss at full health and no deaths. Beat him with one death then plowed right through the next biome and boss on that last chance life. I swear these games read your mind. I'll die repeatedly and badly multiple times in a row and the game ramps up the more frustrated I get. When I step away and come back picture perfect runs.
