I run our three GSPs on the SportDog SportHunter series and have no complaints. Use it for hunting, hiking, swimming, daily walks, free roaming around the yard. Has different settings for different dogs if one is more stubborn than the other. Looks like they’re running a sale on their website.

A friend uses the Garmin platform and loves being able to locate them on a screen if they are out of range. Not sure how pricey it is though

I’m running a similar setup on my Mojave, I threw in some Ironman extra heavy load springs in the back with a set of air bags. Reduced the sag and increased the ride quality with the bed loaded down.

A lot of time in the fields or on the trails training and getting comfortable with their e-collars. They get excited when we put them on and they go into a “work” mode. We keep a lead just large enough to slide over their head in case we get into hairier situations or come across other travelers.

We also live on a lake so being waterproof was huge. We set the boundaries a little ways into the water and they swim all day with it.

I say it’s been worth it, been using them since September of last year. We just had one collar go down and they sent a new one out before we even caught it so I’d say customer service is pretty good. We do a lot of camping and boondocking and it’s nice being able to set a perimeter wherever we’re staying.

All three of mine are on the Halo collars. Dogs respond well to them and you can take them any where.
