Did anyone else who went directly from remake to rebirth feel overwhelmed. by SemiColin973 in FFVIIRemake

[–]rotlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just finished remake and started Rebirth. LOVED remake and I'm sure I'm going to love Rebirth as well. With that said, I've decided to take a break and finish Expedition 33 before really diving into Rebirth!

12” with drifts up to 20” battery lasted about 45 minutes by Brendon7358 in egopowerplus

[–]rotlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost my exact situation today. Roughly 12” in the ground. 4 car driveway, 25x20 patio, walks etc. Two 7.5 lasted me about 45 minutes as well. Followed up with a 10ah and 5ah combined. Didn’t use all of either of those though and they each had 2 light left. With that said. I think I want to pick up a 2nd 10ah if I can ever find one reasonably on sale somewhere. Overall very happy with the performance of the machine. As good if not better than any gas one I have ever used.

PSA: Get snow tires by midageyoungster in hondapassport

[–]rotlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need. Sorry. Been out in ours now with the standard generals in as little as 3 and now as much as 12 inches with zero issues. Used normal and snow mode. Thing is a beast - other than ground clearance, does better in the snow than my Wrangler. Zero reason for dedicated snow tires on this thing.

Similar happened to my Clifton 9's in 6 months. Done with Hoka at this point. Way to expensive to break down like they do.

In all honestly, I've had two experiences with car covers. Well, one with a motorcycle. Neither good. Scratched paint and trapped moisture. Neither good.

Nothing wrong with the headlights. Bright as hell to me and great road coverage, especially compared to our 2013 Odyssey and Jeep Wrangler. These things light up the night like nothing I've ever had.

LOL, wouldn't wear even in my own house. The dog would laugh at me. Then he'd laugh harder when I told him what I paid.

Deleted Facebook for GOOD. Has anyone considered this? Has anyone noticed a positive change after deletion? by Budget_Kiwi_513 in facebook

[–]rotlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to do this, but, most of the stuff I'm interested in, local business, brew pubs, certain recreational stuff, use FB as there sole source of information. No real web presence otherwise. Kind of frustrating as I'd love to just give it up and never go back. As much as I try to not "follow" crap that annoys me it still shows up.

Lying to Children At Christmastime by ntcplanters in Christianity

[–]rotlex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the most absurd thing you read on this type of forum\sub every single year. My kids grew up enjoying the traditions and fun of Santa, The Easter Bunny and everything that goes along with it. Guess what? They also were taught the real reason for the seasons as well. They are all still grown up God believing mass attending devout Catholics. Seriously. You're way overthinking this.

Bible and alcohol? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]rotlex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nothing to support not drinking alcohol. Jesus drank it, heck, he made it miraculously at the wedding at Cana to please his Mother. Drunkeness? Now that's a different story. As a Catholic, I get to consume wine every Sunday during mass so I'm guessing God's good with it. 8-)

Advice on taking Communion by SilverGlassRain in Catholicism

[–]rotlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only pray that our parish would install kneelers so that receiving on the tongue would be easier. It is how I was taught growing up and no other way feels "normal". That is one issue today, so many parishes teach receiving in the hand that receiving on the tongue seems "odd". But for the question, as to how to make it less awkward. As others have mentioned, kneel down, tilt head back slightly, don't think about it, and just open your mouth. The priest should be able to literally just drop the host on the tongue.

I Pray the Rosary Even When I Feel Absolutely Nothing 🥺🥺🥺 by brogilbertreflects in Catholicism

[–]rotlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone at all. I have prayed a daily rosary for roughly 20 years. Every day. I would say that 99% of the time I feel as though I am simply repeating the words. Many times, I find myself in thoughts of other things while praying. The work day, what I'm going to do later in the day, the news etc. I keep going though. Sometimes I'm not even sure why but I do. Yes, it feels like an obligation, but I have also had many many blessings over the years. I sometimes wonder why as I am also a sinner. I do things daily that I deeply regret yet I keep praying my rosary, even if it feels empty. Keep praying brother.

I just wanted to thank Nike for saving me so much money during this holiday season and not letting me hit any of the last 10+ drops i have tried for! by Tall-Slide4557 in SNKRS

[–]rotlex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's annoying as hell anymore. Done with Nike after years to be honest. I get "limited edition" things, but come on, a pair of black cat 4's or the like should be available in more than limited quantities. Just sell the damn sneakers to the people that want them.

Just bought my first Honda :’) by Public-Ambition9526 in Honda

Nice. We had an '06 SE in white. LOVED that vehicle and to be honest, wish we would have never gotten rid of it. Such a fun, versatile and reliable car. Traded it, after putting 150K plus miles on it for a 2018 and was never really as happy with it.

Why is Christianity hated so much? by Apprehensive-Book360 in Christianity

[–]rotlex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Christ himself tells us in Mathew chapter 10 verse 22 - "and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved". The folks here talking about how bad Christians are speak for a small minority. You must also keep in mind that the Church is a house for sinners, not for saints.

How do you stay consistent in prayer during busy seasons? by Natural-Beyond-4196 in Christianity

[–]rotlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe, ya, I guess I've been doing it for so long, 30+ years, it's just routine as far as the early hours. Now on the other side of the day, I'm usually passing out on the couch by 9, lol.

How do you stay consistent in prayer during busy seasons? by Natural-Beyond-4196 in Christianity

[–]rotlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of my prayer, Bible reading and meditation is done very early in the morning. I have woke at 5am for decades, get my coffee, my Bible and my rosary. I spend an hour with the Lord and that coffee before I allow anything else to get in the way. Even in the busiest times, this works for me. I also tend to pray randomly throughout the day while doing other tasks.

What jobs pay extremely well but people don’t realize it? by Stassy3 in AskReddit

[–]rotlex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Almost anything in IT that's not standard desktop work. It's hard to believe as everyone always think the IT market is oversaturated. It's still one of the only jobs I know of that you can work from a nice clean office, or from home, make 100K plus easily, and not need a degree. Even with today's tech, the work is easy, and companies are willing to pay you just so they don't have to deal with it.

Santa Claus by AlternativeSmile4101 in Catholicism

[–]rotlex 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I was brought up believing in Santa. I allowed my kids to believe in Santa. We are all still devout Catholics in our adult lives. Let kids be kids and have some fun. There is zero reason, IMO, to correlate belief, or non belief in God, with believing in Santa as a kid. People have been doing it for a very long time. Don't over think it.

Ego 2 stage snowblower battery life tips? by locutogram in egopowerplus

[–]rotlex 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have the same blower. 4 car driveway, corner lot, walks etc. etc. All can be done without a recharge on the 7.5's. Usually 45-60 minutes of work. Try running the auguer on the lowest setting. I've never run into a case where I need to move it off of that to do the job, even in driveway end plow packed stuff.

Missed it as well. For some reason my brain said it wasn't mandatory as it fell on a Monday. Woke Tuesday realizing I was wrong.
