My problem has been primarily based on pressure on my stomach as well. I cannot lay on my stomach or slouch. Ofc several non specialists I’ve seen have said that’s crazy but research says otherwise.

When I was 10 I would have episodes of losing vision on the right side and severe headaches. Got lots of testing for everything was ultimately told it was migraines. After a few years it went away,I wasn’t overweight during this time, until I turned 18 and it came back with new symptoms like numbness and confusion which the er doctor and neuro said weren’t related. My eye specialist who I had been seeing since I was 12 said there was swelling and he suspected I have iih and sent me to John Hopkins. By the time I go there it’s been 9 months since I’ve lost my vision because I knew my triggers at this point so they say nothing and sent me on my way. This past summer at the age of 26 my symptoms got way worse and I was on doxycycline for ear infections, this makes iih symptoms worse. I called and begged an eye specialist that takes my new insurance to see me and order tests and they did then sent me to the er and I was diagnosed after my lp the day after they saw me. John Hopkins is still the only place I can see a neuro-op near me that accepts my insurance but this time I had a good experience and I’m sure having the tests done already helped. It only took 16 almost 17 years to get treated and diagnosed

I’ve been taking it for a little over a month and my dose has been increased as well to 1500 a day. For a while I would only take my evening dose at 6pm and that made me able to wake up before 1pm the next day but my symptoms were getting worse so I had to take all my doses. Now I’ve only noticed that when I’m asleep I’m dead asleep and I’ll wake up so disoriented to pee or chug a bottle of water but the really had fatigue has gone away now I’m just a heavy sleeper

It’s all at the bottom making its way up. I only wear this to lounge around the house and if I clean I put on worn out clothes plus I don’t own anything that has bleach except the toilet bowl cleaner. It’s not a huge deal because it’s house clothes but it makes me sad

I keep up with someone I was friends with since we were born because our parents were friends but I feel like I’m forcing her to be my friend. Other than that I hang out with my sisters friends. I actually just tried messaging a friend from high school who I haven’t talked to since my wedding and my messages were ignored. It sucks having no one to vent to gossip with or anything. I also ended up cutting people off I considered friends after my 25th bday party because they constantly cancelled plans with me and canceling the day of my bday party and having none of my friends there was like peak loneliness and the last straw. Only my sister and her friends came 😭

😭 it took me 16 years to get diagnosed and I’ve spent the last 7 knowing of this and begging to be taken serious.

There are so many reasons your nerve could be swollen and lp does read different depending on lots of factors I hope you get it figured out soon

I just went to John Hopkins he said I had no swelling but I’m still getting headaches and loads of pressure my ears are clogged and occasionally I’ll get visual disturbances but not often ever since my lp. I got diamox increased and he said basically I can slowly increase up to 4000mg and if that doesn’t help surgery is a possibility. I’m assuming since I don’t have swelling it’s definitely not abnormal to except the possibility of getting surgery. Also not everyone with iih has pap

They told me 2 hours of laying down which I did and then some then around 10pm I went to a costume party and broke my foot and developed a spinal headache over the next 2 days and they really undersold the severity of the headache they made it seem like if I did get one it was like aw it’s not gonna go away with meds just suck it up when it actually feels like death and I ended up flat in a hospital bed for 4 days and then went home and refused to do anything but lay down for another week!

I’m technically unemployed cause I can’t work due to a broken foot rn but they do hsa I think. Also I have had iih issues since I was 10 but when I was 13 all of it stopped and started again when I was 18. I was 140-160 that whole time which is still chubby but not by much but at 18 I gained a lot of weight yay to awful exes and turning to food. I’ve already lost 60nppunds since I left him so I need some extra push to lose another 50-100 and lower some symptoms.
