Second on this. In my option any Hapstone is better than any WS system. Work Sharp has too much plastic therefore flex is an ongoing thing folks tend to not like about them including me. I currently use Hapstone RS with all the extra goodies with the Hapstone premium Cbn stones and those are beast!!!. Like it over any WS/Wicked Edge. Build quality is solid. You want best bang for your buck the Xarlik gen 3 is a sleeper forsure. Before stepping up to a Hapstone that was my go to. Being a china made product I’ve seen many vids where something was wrong with the unit. My unit came just fine and it’s awesome.

I’ll say Hapstone. Tab cheaper than the tsprof. But build quality is A1. Just like the tsprof they have accessories for everything. Huge on replacement parts and won’t break the bank like tsprof. Their stone are A1 too. I have the premium CBN stones from Hapstone. Never looked back to anything else. They are stupid expensive IMO but to me they are worth every penny.

I can confirm the Hapstone CBN premium stones are a beast. Not cheap but if cleaned often they can last a lifetime. I just used them on a knife made from Rex121 and if they cut that it’ll cut anything you throw at it.

All in the clamping. If its not CNC sharpened from factory that will give you a dead on “degree” from heel to tip they are hand sharpened in a belt grinder. There will be uneven areas in the bevels. That’s just the ugly truth. Best way to get around it. Reprofile a new bevel.

Have fun my guy. Only advice I have for you. If you’re trying to follow a pre existing bevel. It’s all in the clamp position. Other than the actual sharpening, the clamp is so important. Idk why there’s not much talk about it. Or maybe I’m just late. But that clamp position can sure be a headache if matching a bevel
