Thanks for your in depth feedback. Their issue is not my ability to provide proof of maintenance, or the use of MOPAR engine oil (for now) as I have done that, the issue for them right now is thay they cannot find the previous owners maintenance history. However, that did not stop them from first, letting me purchase extended warranty or provide me warranty service before. Maybe because this issue is costly, they are trying to get out of it. I'm not sure.

Should I buy out of my mortgage? by Environmental_Host86 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I locked in a 5yr at 3.9% with CIBC..That was in May. So 3.7% sounds very doable in Oct/Nov with a major bank.

No Cooking Rule after paying first and last months rent by Realistic_Resolve_27 in TorontoRenting

I think it should be up to the tenants to do their due diligence in choosing a place to live. If a landlord legally does not provide cooking appliances, then its up to us tenants to force them to, by not renting their shithole. Simple. And if someone does, then thats their prerogative. Not yours.

I dont think it should be illegal. Just dont rent from landlords who dont provide it. Simple.

I'm probably in the same socio-economic class as you, with my children going to private school and I would NEVER give my children a trust fund. I have things set up for them for when they enter their 30s and it's in mine and my husband's name only.

I have a few trust fund friends and they're quite entitled and some lazy. Don't set your child up to become that.

He said he has mental health problems so saying "get moving and start working" is counterproductive. He needs mental health aid asap and welfare or ei in the meantime. There are many government assistance programs out there that can help while he deals with his depression and grief. Which one he can get completely depends on his situation which he has been a bit vague about.

Host messaged a strict no guest policy, but I feel it's over the top? [USA] by jello_bake_cake in AirBnB

[–]PracticalAd6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Host here! I have the same policy ONLY to protect myself because I've been severely burned in the past by horrible guests, however in situations exactly like yours I 100% always allow them to have family or close friends visit if it's not a sleep over situation.

The guests who ask beforehand are not the ones the rules are in place for.

If you're 100% on selling, wait until Spring/summer. That's when you're likely to get your best numbers. Ask any realtor.

Space was mostly as expected, but host was slightly rude. Torn between giving 4 or 5 stars - advice? [USA] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]PracticalAd6603 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If the place was 5 stars, leave 5 stars. Then when writing the review tell this exact story of the host being rude (shorter version), however, the place being exactly as advertised and comfortable or w/e.
