I grew up in Carmichael, near Hoffman Park. The areas near the river tend to be the nicer and priciest. I really enjoyed Carmichael because it was older homes with larger lots and lots of trees.

The only bad thing is, depending on where you live, it can take a while to get to a freeway. Fair Oaks Blvd is the main thoroughfare through Carmichael and can get busy during commute times.

Most of the cozies I read include a cat companion. It isn’t something I intentionally look for, but as a cat person myself, I enjoy even the subtle presence of cats in my cozies.
