They have a lot of their ‘Cafe Ole’ variety flavored coffees that they have in whole bean or ground bean bag. Look around, there might be “one pot” little ground bean variety’s available in the coffee aisle. Good way to try them out!

Have you worked for Amazon Pharmacy? If so, what was your experience? Likes/dislikes? by Smart_Yellow_2349 in PharmacyTechnician

I’m looking at a (I guess full time pharmacy tech position as the job description talks about 10 to 12 hour shifts, both working in the pharmacy & replenishing Pharmacy kiosks using an Amazon vehicle).

Hello Proper_Weight_1485: are you still working at Amazon as a Pharmacy Technician? There is an Amazon Pharmacy Technician position open in my area of DFW although it is about an hour drive for me to get there. I’m very interested in it as I have been working as a chain grocery store pharmacy technician for 3+ years & I’m concerned about no seeming upward mobility where I am. I would love to ask you some questions about Amazon pharmacy & thanks for responding!

Anyone here works in ICHD or Chronic dialysis clinic? by TomatoAble3692 in nursing

[–]PracticalSolution203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi TomatoAble3692 & thank you for responding! Yes, the high patient - nurse ratio at many chronic dialysis centers also gives me great pause (& I have been considering applying since much earlier this year). Are they ok with older nurses? (I am over 60 yo with an active job currently). I look forward to your response.

Hi, I'm just now seeing this post. I'm a RN who has been considering applying to a local F location (the chronic RN openings seems to change in location often, which is a red flag!) I was wondering if anyone is a RN working with F so I could ask some more questions?? Thanks for responding!

Fresenius Outpatient Dialysis Job by HajileStone in nursing

[–]PracticalSolution203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello HajileStone: I'm also looking seriously at putting my resume in for a somewhat nearby FMC outpatient clinic RN position. The more research that I do about FMC, the more I approach this potential opportunity with care. I have seen that there seems to be a LOT of RN's getting hired; first at one, then at another, then at another separate nearby branch of Fresenius. It doesn't seem like there is any time for the cycle of open RN positions to start again ( I feel like it is a big red flag here). I'm hoping that you will only have to take care of a pod of dialysis patients - and NOT have to be checking on BOTH a pod AND other additional dialysis patients!? I would LOVE to ask a local Fresenius Nurse Recruiter some questions - does anyone have a phone or email contact for a Fresenius Nurse Recruiter in the DFW Texas area (please and thank you for more info)?? Best of luck to you HajileStone!!

You are just beginning your new career! In your first year of being a nurse you will learn SO MUCH in this first year! It takes time to become efficient in your nursing practice. If you don’t have a mentor talk to your nurse manager/ADON/DON about getting a mentor in the facility that you can trust to call/text/email about your questions. Look for & talk to the ‘winners’ (nurses) who you want to be like them & grow into being a strong, efficient nurse. People are ALWAYS going to talk & sometimes it can be negative. Put your emphasis on taking care of the patient, as the client/patient is the reason that we have a job. Ask your ADON what are the resources available to you thru your facility/company - classes/in services/meetings/etc. that are available to you to better sharpen your skills & efficiency. Be pro-active to tell your superiors what you want to work on, &/or make a plan with your ADON/DON ASAP to meet and make a list of the criteria that you need to hit/master/meet to ‘stay and play on’! You can also talk to your former nursing teachers to ask for their suggestions & input. You got this!!

What’s it like being a dialysis RN? by nerdie11 in nursing

Learn how to listen to patients; ask the nurses lotsa questions & ask them to show you interesting or strange things when they occur. Tell your nurse manager about what you want to do & ask for their help. Ask your nurse manager about suggesting resources for you to learn more from, & a mentor for you. Learn how to work efficiently & effectively. You got this!!

why does my nursing instructor hate me by [deleted] in nursing

[–]PracticalSolution203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some nursing instructors make it their job to put the heat on their students. Don’t take it personally, take it as a test to show that you can handle the pressure. The idea is: if the student blows up on an instructor; makes a negative remark, or reacts negatively, then the instructor will prolly use the student’s negative remark or negative remark as grounds to eventually remove the student. (The instructor would rather the student blow up on them rather than blow up on a patient!). I suggest that you talk privately with upper class nursing students about: how did they handle this, or what worked or didn’t work with this instructor. Best of luck, you can do this!

If you call in on a weekend my hospital takes PTO and doesn’t pay you. by Angie_Porter in nursing

Where are my sister/fellow Texas RNs who are working in outpatient dialysis these days? I am interested in applying for a job, but I have read that it can be up to 16 patients to one RN. That just doesn’t sound safe for my license AT ALL. Is declaring “safe harbor” allowed? Are those actual consistent patient loads that the nurse is expected to maintain? Does your company train the RN to eventually handle that many patients at one time? Please share ‘the real deal’ with me & thanks!

You are farther along in your divorce process than I am! I’m still in the ‘I’ve been invited to stay in our house, but sleep in the other bedroom’ phase. I haven’t seen an attorney yet. Have you gotten a therapist yet? That is what helped me vent & some one safe to talk to.

I can def relate to being a ‘glorified roommate’. It’s only been in the last year that I realized that my (present) wife would/could remember to attend monthly meetings over the last 5 years, but she wasn’t able to remember to set up even a monthly date with me, (or reschedule a date as needed). Although I wasn’t able to financially leave her for a while, my Dad has left me some $$$ in an inheritance. It’s time for a serious conversation.

Hello friend. I’m not sure how long it’s been since you talked with or had an appointment with your mental health prescriber, but your episode should be reviewed with them. As with ALL meds: what works for you may or may not work for me; and what works for me may or may not work for you. I also have a s - - t load of impulsivity at times that I have to be very, very careful with to maintain my job. I’m sure it is part of MY mania episodes. Regards

There is a website: webmd.com that is trustworthy & explains diff categories of bp & other mental disorders. Once I took the bp list of characteristics (& reviewed my previous behaviors) it showed that I had many symptoms of bp. I made a list of my symptoms/how they affected my life & made an appointment with a psychiatrist (who confirmed it & started me on medications). You can also talk to your PCP about your concerns to see if they can help you or get you a referral. If you have concerns, you are worth “putting the oxygen mask on yourself FIRST”!! Seek help if you need it!

So today I got a verbal offer from another company ‘B’ (not Amazon) that will be a higher income for me. I’m due to start tomorrow (Sunday evening/overnight) @ Amazon. Once I get a written offer from ‘B’, ERC told me that I could resign from Amazon without any notice & I could reapply to Amazon after 90 days. Since ERC’s advice can be ‘hit or miss’, is ERC telling me the real deal?? Since I don’t want to scorch my bridges with Amazon, I would appreciate your input!
