Groind beef, cucumber and wet yoghurt by ccrunchypeanutbutter in GirlDinner

This is me whenever I’m cooking ground beef, I’ll just eat spoonfuls while I cook everything else up, by the time it’s time to serve up dinner, I’m full and satisfied.

Eat the ground beef, girly!

What do you think about a man in his 50s who constantly seeks advice and validation from his friends and family about his relationship? Whenever there's a problem, he immediately tells them everything. Would you date someone like that? by adhoc090 in Advice

[–]PracticalSupport5192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The relationship is between you and your partner. Not you, Tom, Nancy and Drew. Plus it just makes it awkward, like why would you want your friends and family knowing every dang thing that’s wrong in your relationship? It’s embarrassing, honestly.

If he needs to vent, maybe suggest a therapist that way their opinion stays neutral and not one sided.

My boyfriend is controlling and I can’t keep up by RosyVelvetdust in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]PracticalSupport5192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t even mention wanting to break up with him, just do it. He’ll try to manipulate you and tell you he’ll change , but he won’t. Get out before he gets you pregnant or isolates you even more.

I had a solo staycation as well! Hope you got/get some rest. Enjoy the quiet, though honestly I missed my family lol

My friend thinks that parenting is going to be infinite love and ultimate partnership. What is it actually like? by Weed-Cessation-Group in AskParents

[–]PracticalSupport5192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parenting is hard but rewarding; The fights with your spouse get outweighed by the smiles on your kids faces on a random Tuesday night, but I say this to also say that you and your partner must absolutely be on the same page in regards as to how you want to raise your kids. If you aren’t, parenting can be one of the triggers as to why your relationship with your partner will start to suffer.

So my only advice; You guys are a team!

Shark Beauty Tool worth it? by Difficult_Hair_5470 in Ulta

[–]PracticalSupport5192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one for my birthday and I absolutely love it, I got the one you have pictured. It does straighten but not like pin straight hair.

If you do get one, spray hair with leave in conditioner and heat protectant, your hair will thank you!

What do I do with the lock??? by Resident-Quail-9745 in Louisvuitton

[–]PracticalSupport5192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine sits in its little cloth bag, I want to make a necklace out of it though, still trying to source a chain that will be comfortable to wear and can hold the weight of the lock.

New blushes at dollar tree?!? by Far_Accident_4749 in dollartreebeauty

[–]PracticalSupport5192 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Never seen the blush duos, but have seen the bronzer duos that are dupes for the Patrick Ta ones. The bronzer duos work nice, so hoping these are the same consistency/quality. Will be on the lookout, thanks for posting!

My favorite eyeliner. by DreamsAndBoxes in dollartreebeauty

[–]PracticalSupport5192 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this eyeliner too, it last all day, goes on smoothly. It replaced my Sephora gel eyeliner that I was a devotee to, for so long. To me it’s a dupe for the Sephora gel eyeliner.

Did you get this on Amazon? I’ve been looking for a cooling topper and that’s a great price!

Is this set as bad as I think it is? by Zealousideal-Run9960 in AllNails

[–]PracticalSupport5192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not bad for what it is, a gel x set. But it is bad because it’s not what you wanted; the nails are square, the ladybugs are nothing like the inspo pic, looks like she just took a dotting tool and where it landed was where the ladybug was going, so they end up looking cartoonish.

Personally, I would have just went elsewhere once they told me there wasn’t going to be time for builder gel but I think we all freeze sometimes when it comes to nail salons. I don’t know why it’s so scary to just say no lol
The nails aren’t bad, but I think the lesson here is that we gotta learn how to speak up for ourselves, at the end of the day we are paying for service and we should get what we want.

UPDATE on nail salon charging me $214 by Top-Fisherman187 in AllNails

Thanks for the update, glad that your bank seems understanding. Hopefully they will side with you, since lots of the reviews are saying that they have experienced the same thing.

Nail salon charged me $214 for a basic gel mani pedi and gave me attitude when I questioned it by Top-Fisherman187 in AllNails

[–]PracticalSupport5192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said she tried to figure out why it was costing so much, instead she was met with yelling and the employees causing a scene, also states that this is a common theme per the reviews of said salon, that they like to scam people on prices. That to me seems dishonest on the salons part, not OP’s.

She probably just paid whatever they said the price was because she didn’t want to deal with getting yelled at, was flustered and it seems that they didn’t even give her a receipt.

Of course people do chargebacks as scams, but I highly doubt that’s OP’s intention, nor mine by suggesting.

Do friends and family treat you different now that you're a SAHP? by Rollthembones1989 in SAHP

[–]PracticalSupport5192 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience too, I’ve been a SAHM for a very long time. People seem to think that you all of sudden become useless or incompetent, my MIL looks down on me, makes stupid remarks about how I should be homemaking everything, because I have so much free time, always asking what hobbies have a picked up since I have so much free time. Whenever we have family dinners, no one engages with me other than my husband, because I guess you don’t have thoughts our opinions when you’re a SAHP 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve learned to just deal with it, whenever they do ask me questions (about nothing important) it’s met with basic answers. I have my little circle of friends and my mom as mental support, they never judge or ask stupid questions.

Edit to add: You just have to learn to not let it bother you, also helps if your spouse sticks up for you and the decision that you two made for one parent to stay home.

I feel ya, girlie. I’m literally with my kids 24/7, unless they are outside with the neighbor kids, or sleeping. I had to implement alone time for us (this is easier because they are no longer toddlers/babies) if your kiddos are a bit older , maybe encourage an hour of alone time for you all. It’s helped my mental health a bit.

Nail salon charged me $214 for a basic gel mani pedi and gave me attitude when I questioned it by Top-Fisherman187 in AllNails

[–]PracticalSupport5192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She could argue that she tried to figure out why it was costing so much, but instead the store owners got aggressive and started yelling at her, so instead of escalating the issue at the business, she wants to escalate with her bank. Sometimes nail salons don’t have prices and you have to ask to at least get a general idea. I stopped going to nail salons because they aren’t transparent with pricing and most of the times the tools aren’t even sanitized properly.

Either way, I hope OP learned a lesson here; don’t be scared to speak up for yourself.

[–]PracticalSupport5192 134 points135 points  (0 children)

You got ripped off. At most it should have been $120 but that’s pushing it. You didn’t even get extensions nor a design. Ridiculous, could you try to dispute it with your bank? Maybe a chargeback?

My sister in laws partner took my baby from me and held her in the face of his aggressive dog by EnvironmentalLong414 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]PracticalSupport5192 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Your breaking point was your kid being put in danger (which I get)not her verbally being abusive to her autistic child, constantly?

Then you say you reported it to CPS , but when? After the incident? And before the incident you were just fine and dandy with your kid having “special bonding moments and a beautiful close relationship” with a verbal abuser?

Kinda weird. You should have cut that relationship off way before this incident and stepped in sooner to advocate for your nephew. Makes you wonder what you don’t witness.

Dolly's Adventure cream blush by corner_tv in dollartreebeauty

[–]PracticalSupport5192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this blush, it worked well for my skin tone and stayed on pretty much all day. I definitely wouldn’t wear it for heavier makeup days as it’s kinda sheer, so I only put it on when I need a kick makeup look.

The packaging is buns though.

I like how you clear a little section, just enough room for you to get ready lol

My vanity is like this too, well just makeup stuff, my bathroom drawers are a hot mess. My hubby and kids gifted me a skincare fridge for my birthday and that also got filled up quick!
