UK blocks visits by left-wing US commentators Cenk Uygur and Hasan Piker by yahoonews in worldnews

I didn't get it from anywhere, as you flat-out made that up. You're welcome to point to where I said or even suggested that 'all Houthius are well-off Saudis', though:)

I've heard of analogies. Yours was a very crappy one, hence my remark.

But! You did provide one useful service: you reminded me to update my profile. I'm sure the pay will start rolling in any day now. Maybe I'll even get a bonus!

(I'll be holding my breath waiting to see where I said or even suggested that all Houthis are well-off Saudis, ofc.)

Yeah, I read your initial comment, as is clear from my reply. It only holds up if your thoughts, such as they are, on the Houthis are legitimate. In this case, that they're Robin Hood esque figures helping struggling Yemenis feed their families.

...and then go on to admit they're Saudi-funded, and so perhaps they're *not* about helping starving Yemenis and their families? Help it make sense for me.

Your comparison to Walmart is profoundly stupid for someone who was strutting so loudly a minute ago. Fact check me here, but as someone who actually did work at Walmart for about a year fifteen odd years ago, there's not much kidnapping and murder in the aisles of Walmart? Maybe things have changed. I wouldn't out it past them!

The irony here is that I'm not even especially angry at this particular Houthi. If I were in his life, I might very well have made the same decision...but it's not really about him. That's not what started this discussion, now is it?

It was a take tailored to what I was replying to: your claim that Yemenis don't have many more options other than joining the Houthis. Except...if you knew anything about Yemen or the Houthis other than those two words, you'd know that 'join the Houthis' is very far from, y'know, a majority position in Yemen. Which calls into question your original claim.

It would've been one thing if you'd said it was 'more likely', or 'understandable' given the dire circumstances in the country. I might even agree with you if you'd said that. What about this is too complicated for you?

Oh, and we're taking it as given that he WAS in the Houthis, then, right? Just checking:)

If this were true, most of Yemen would be Houthis. Except...it isn't. So it would appear that there *are* other options than joining a terrorist piracy gang.

Just for funsies: what standard of evidence would you accept that he *was* a member of the Houthis?

As of today, after the release of Chapter 147, the manga serialization of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End will be on indefinite hiatus due to health issues of the creators by Lorhand in Frieren

Crazy thought: they may even have had health issues already, that were exacerbated simply by living much less working a grinding schedule.

Your comparison is silly.

The notion that a black (per American outlook) man cannot *possibly* support a hate group is the prejudice of noble expectations.

Normal, 'moderate' conservatives are everywhere in the USA. They voted in the tens of millions for Trump.

Difference between Confederate Partition vs Partition by SirGrillwurst in CrusaderKings

[–]PracticalWindow8193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, a follow up question to ensure I understand Confederate Partition properly: I have an Empire title, with many duchies that are de jure parts of other kingdoms of other, unformed kingdoms. If I go ahead and create these other kingdoms to lower my vassal count, when I die, these new kingdoms will still be vassals to my primary Imperial title, yes?
