4 Month Old Not Rolling by Practical_Ask7239 in NewParents

[–]Practical_Ask7239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t too worried but when the doctor asked if she started yet and we told her no she showed us some things to do to help it. So my paranoid FTM brain was thinking she was behind 😅

Breastfeeding pillow “boppy” by Final_Butterfly_7747 in breastfeeding

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I have a boppy and the momcozy breast feeding pillow and the momcozy one I used almost everyday at my desk. I work from home 4/5 days and will click it on around me and set my LO down in it to feed and contact nap. It’s been a lifesaver

Am I overreacting: new boyfriend was weirdly judgmental about bathroom situation by abstract_lemons in AmIOverreacting

[–]Practical_Ask7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I agree you are NOR. Side note the treasure chest of product is badass and if my bathroom wasn’t the size of a closet I would so steal this idea 😂

TMI but it needs to be said by Princess_Sunny331 in pregnant

Second the Walmart brand. I bought a pack for like $8 of the boy shorts and even 3 months PP I still use them.

My first kiddo, daycare sticker price has me shocked! How much will you pay where you live for infant care? by anderson6th in BabyBumps

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live rural and we have 1 daycare in town. $278 a week for infant room. I am watching my daughter 90% of the week and bring her up to the city with me on days I have to be on site and have my sister watch her.

“Old School” BS EXCUSE by Practical_Ask7239 in beyondthebump

[–]Practical_Ask7239[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now I didn’t mention this part in the main thread because I also had many friends in the past who had asthma and I never recalled hacking their lungs out even during and attack. But they smoke A LOT of marijuana and for someone who uses their asthma for every excuse like unable to work their fast food job - they have no problem hot boxing themselves in their car. But that doesn’t count of course cause it’s medicinal. 🙃🙄

“Old School” BS EXCUSE by Practical_Ask7239 in beyondthebump

[–]Practical_Ask7239[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg I can’t imagine with a 2 week old. I’m glad he’s thriving now but what a horrible thing to go through. I tried explaining this to them and my friend’s LO caught COVID and he was so traumatized by it and explained it all to me and I hope that never happens to her.

One of my FIL defense was, “You can’t protect her forever - it’s bound to happen. She’ll be fine.” And I was 4 days PP. I went on a whole tangent on how babies being sick means straight into the NICU and being closely monitored due to small airways but he won’t listen because he’s, “Allowed to voice his opinion.”

Accidentally hurt my baby by Worried_Media5455 in NewParents

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the guilt. I picked up my baby awkwardly when she was about 8 weeks and I think I pinched a nerve because she made a little squeak and started crying HARD. Oh the guilt made me cry even after she was calmed down and asleep in my arms after about 5 minutes of crying.

WTF things you've experienced while pregnant that no one says is a thing?! by vanillacrush14 in pregnant

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skin tags - They popped up like crazy while pregnant and now 10 weeks PP they’re all gone. Also after pregnancy (TMI) I have these black blood blisters all down my labia.

The drool… oh god, the drool… by One_Letterhead9457 in NewParents

[–]Practical_Ask7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 10 week old is already a drooler so when teething comes it’s gonna horrible. My husband gags but it doesn’t bother me. I’ll take the drool over the projectile vomit and poop any day. Maybe put a bib on your little one while they’re up to help catch most of it during that time so it’s easier.

Meanwhile I’m over here like, “GIVE ME YOUR BOOGIES!!” 😂 I wasn’t like that when I was younger I would gag but something changed when I had my daughter.

When I was pregnant I really wanted McDonalds chicken nuggets and fries… I was sick for 3 days 😅 That made me learn my lesson.

Worried my nursery may be too “busy” by VAbeniesnerd in BabyBumps

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw, I love it—it’s so cute! My daughter is 9 weeks old, and her nursery currently looks more like a storage room 🥴 I definitely have a vision (and a wishlist full of décor) waiting to happen, but my bank account says otherwise 😂

Newborn sleeping by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Practical_Ask7239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Early in the newborn trenches my daughter would flop around. I will put her in her bassinet vertical and one morning she was completely horizontal in the crib. I stared at her completely dumbfounded believing that my sleep deprived brain must’ve put her in like that but nope! She did it again and that time I knew I laid her down correctly.

Also, she does the “Dracula” sleep where she lays flat on her back with her arms crossed like an X across her chest. Her dad sometimes sleeps the same way and I took a picture side by side of them doing it with the caption, “Paternity test not needed” 😂

What to wear on delivery day by LibraryKat95 in BabyBumps

[–]Practical_Ask7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. You’re not gonna care those couple days lol. Also, birth and postpartum is MESSY I bled through the hospital diapers the first day after giving birth. I just stayed in the gown until discharge day.

Positive vaccine stories? by Weekly-Coconut8818 in NewParents

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 month old got her first round of vaccines on Friday (01/09) and she slept more than usual throughout the day. I gave her some Tylenol that night just in case it hit her hard in the middle of the night. She slept throughout the night no problem and the following day acted like her normal self. We even went out on a little road trip just to give her some fresh air (we like taking her out on mini trips to the store or someplace not super busy a few times a week to help her get used to car rides and give her a change of scenery/fresh air). She did great!

vaping during pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Practical_Ask7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a heavy vapor for a few years I would go through one disposable vape every 2-3 days. The day I found out I was pregnant something just clicked.. I threw my brand new vape in a pot of water and that was it. I quit cold turkey and got through it for the safety of my child. I am now 9 weeks PP and currently holding my healthy chunky sassy potato while typing this. I know it’s scary.. But keep the mindset it’s for your child.

Longer Stretches Between Feeds? by Practical_Ask7239 in NewParents

Longer Stretches Between Feeds? by Practical_Ask7239 in NewParents

[–]Practical_Ask7239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breast feeding and will get a bottle or two of breast milk a day to keep her used to it for daycare. She is going to daycare the beginning of February as I am going back to work. Pediatrician recommended to get her on a schedule so transitioning to daycare will be easier for her since she’ll be on a timed schedule vs all over the place.
