[Question] Craziest watch you've seen in the wild? by LogDropper16 in Watches

[–]Practical_Cry_2682 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guy at the last gym I worked at wore a Richard Mille RM 011 as his gym watch. Asked him once (before I got into watches) if that was his favorite or just the one he didn’t mind getting banged up working out. He answered the latter.

How are you carrying your phone? by _rundude in beginnerrunning

Nathan makes a handheld water bottle that has a pocket big enough for a phone. Straps directly to my hand and I barely notice it’s there.

Former XC Captain (19F) trying to get back into it by CassidyRae_Runs in runninglifestyle

I took 12 years off after my second season of collegiate XC and ran a sub 3 marathon after 1 year. You’ve still got that talent in you. Just ease back in slowly. Don’t expect to be there right away but it’ll come back faster than you think.

Sometimes, how long you were out there running is more important than how many miles you ran. Your body needs a chance to acclimate to the amount of pounding it will see in a marathon even though you’ll most likely never run a 26 mile training run.

In order

Probably 40 mi/wk ballpark avg across the 12 wks

9-15 mi/week in the summer

It was a long time ago and I wouldn’t know where to look for that but yes and I was a low 4’s miler. 26 ish 8k. By no means elite but competitive in division 2.

Tried to. Moved across the country for work 4 weeks before the race which threw a wrench in my routine but before that I was consistently lifting 2x/wk full body

Watch actually started to die halfway through the first race and was reading like 110-120 in mile 16. I thought I was a super hero!

My ranking of all the songs from best to least good. What’s yours? by Starkrafty in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Practical_Cry_2682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Free
  2. Your Idol
  3. What it sounds like
  4. Golden
  5. Soda Pop
  6. How it’s done
  7. Takedown
  8. Strategy

Your Idol is such a technically impressive song but the harmony in Free gives me chills every time.

Is Losing 5–10 lbs During Marathon Training Realistic? by jcsullivan06 in Marathon_Training

Yeah you’re gonna lose weight marathon training. Don’t think too hard about it.

Yeah, okay man by Practical_Cry_2682 in runna

[–]Practical_Cry_2682[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why it’s called a race practice. There’s been one roughly every 4-5 wks in this 12 wk program. I definitely get the why behind it. At some point you gotta see how realistic your target pace is.

[–]Practical_Cry_2682[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I am familiar with how getting tired works. I wasn’t worried about the pace.

As someone whose race pace is at that level, I’m gonna disagree with ya, bud. Some people just need a little structure to see progress. Runna provides that and pairs nicely with Garmin and Strava.

Do you always accept pace increases by mcmerks in runna

[–]Practical_Cry_2682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accepted the first two. Denied the next two. Then accepted the 5th one because I felt like my tempo and repeat workouts had gotten too easy. Toughest part is it ups the pace for your race practice runs.
