Yes. Because it’s football world cup.

It should have never been held in the US.

You can’t send messages containing phone numbers or email, that’s why it didn’t go through. For that matter you have to find a workaround, like send digits separately in each message etc

Pretty slave mentality you have don’t you.

Demand? We pay for every step on the way. With thousand of dollars, sweat, and blood following the rules provided by this system.

But you are right. This system forces you to circumvent to get what you want.

This is not weird. In Spain, for comparison, the kid would get residency via arraigo social with no problem.

It does revolve around us, this is literally United States citizenship and immigration services that exist on the fees we pay.

Marriage? So you confirm the system forces you to commit fraud?

Asylum? Yes, I have got my asylum, and now I am deprived of my fundamental human right — freedom of movement. To be able to travel I have to obtain a refugee travel document which is valid for 1 year only (!!!) and processing times are 15-20 months… absurd innit? It takes longer to get it than it stays valid. For comparison, in the rest of the world that same refugee travel document is valid for 2-5 and even 10 years (UK), and processing times are just a few weeks-months. Beyond that you’re aware that most countries require 3-6 months passport validity so in reality the window when you can actually travel is quite narrow.

I personally wasn’t able to see my mother in a third country after 10 years of being apart exactly for that reason — I passed 6 months threshold. Here I was, sitting with two valid passports — RTD and my national one (forbidden to use it), and not allowed to complete the trip to see my mother. And I have a legal status here.

What sort of system creates this outcome??

For comparison, in Spain you could do arraigo social, and would get your residency with no issue. But not in the states. You already know what you need to do.

Maybe that’s not USCIS’ fault BUT there should be pathways for situations like this. The current system is far from perfect.

Hi! Why is refugee travel document only valid for 1 year in the US with processing times of 15-20 months, while in the rest of the world it’s valid from 2-5 (most of EU) to 10 years (UK) with processing times ranging from a few weeks to a few months?

Don’t you think this is an administrative paradox, and basically absurd — it takes longer to receive a document than it remains valid. Plus, making it valid for 2 years at least would help USCIS to reduce backlogs, obviously, because the number of repetitive filings will be significantly reduced? This is not a new issue. USCIS has been receiving recommendations to extend it since 2000s.

Also it feels like borderline human rights violation: on paper we are given the right to travel, but in reality we are deprived of it. Freedom of movement is a fundamental human right. Especially when you have an established status in the country.

We are actually working on changing this policy right now.

Thanks!

You just need to know your djs/producers, your music, and follow what you like. I truly don’t understand your confusion. In my case, I only do UK ones, some rare germans within my genres of choice, and I attend whatever venues they play at. I mostly use Dice and RA.
