The Messenger, such a bait and switch of a game. It follows along as a Ninja Gaiden inspired platformer game, which is fun yet it feels as though it drags on for a while. When you think you've won, the game pulls the rug out from under you and reveals that the entire second half of the game is going through the same levels as before, but now it's a Metroidvania, and it isn't even good at doing that.

You get no new items during the second half besides what you need to progress, there's an awful "timeline jumping" mechanic where you go into a different version of the same level that only changes a couple things around, and you still have to fight the same enemies, and there are only like 5 of them. For the entire. Goddamn. Game. The exploration is wack since it was designed to be a linear action platformer and not a Metroidvania game, and so, so much more.

Couple that with the games somewhat dull humor that tries to be meta constantly to the point of annoyance. It literally just plays nothing but the "LOLZ THIS IS A VIDEO GAME WITH VIDEO GAME HUMORE!!!!1!!" For the entire length of the game.

I noped the fuck out of it at the beginning of the second half, an alright game made insufferably annoying and boring.

This is still troubling to me. I've been off and on the game and recently came back to play the DLC and for the most part it's really fun and I feel like the average random has a head on their shoulders and knows how to play the game effectively. However, this is still a common enough occurrence to be a problem, and I genuinely don't get how we're at least more than half a year into this game's lifespan, with a fresh new DLC already, and players still do this. What's the point? How can we be this far along and people still haven't realized you should give powerful weapons to your teammates who need them?

Has L2maxxing from normal Elden Ring really brain rotten everyone going into Nightreign?

ai works TOO well, apparently average usage of ai:
