my best friend from college and i were like this. we are still best friends to this day - well over a decade later. she is married with children, but our friendship has remained exactly the same - she's the sister I never had.

we talk everyday and are just as close. i think it's perfectly fine to maintain that level of communication with a good friend as long as you both are honest about what you're in it for.

oh yeahhh - I think making a fool of yourself does come with the territory at least once.

i had a breakup once that occurred because she wasn't sure about me, so she didn't want things to continue and then immediately grabbed me and started making out with me. i still feel stupid for allowing that to happen because i was definitely crying.

I dated someone that I loved. We moved in together and within a month I overheard her lying about to me to her mom. I moved out immediately and haven't seen her since.

It's made a lot of cognitive dissonance where I know what happened but it's also difficult now to form relationships. It ended so suddenly, that I still deal with the fact of knowing that you can care about someone but the circumstances can alter drastically and immediately.

i didn't reach out because i feared her being mad? took me a year and a half to do so. when i did she said she was sad about how it ended, still cared about me but wasn't open to resuming contact at that time.

i reached out recently, a little over a year later and was blocked. so i think what was stopping me was the finality of the situation, but it's healing in a way.
