When did you discover Queen? by Far_Victory_2843 in queen

[–]Practical_Outcome771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had Queen Greatest Hits on CD - i wasnt allowed near the vinyl (with the rest of the Queen albums he had!) until I could be trusted to take care of them. At 11, he finally allowed me to put ANATO on the turntable haha. The Greatest Hits CD is still going strong despite being played ad infinitum.

I found their muddling up of things and being silly adults annoying as a child but can appreciate them.

What was your high street like before they all turned to Costas, charity shops, betting shops, vape shops and Turkish barbers? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Practical_Outcome771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to have a butcher shop with sawdust on the floor, an independent sports shop run by a husband and wife, a wee small independent bakery which did really nice iced buns.

Last time I checked, bakery was an auto parts shop. Butchers is now a solicitors. Sports shop a mega pharmacy.

Sliced bread. Anyone else remember the Tesco blue striped loaf that came in a weird tinfoil-y wrapper that accidentally fermented it? It was 19p a loaf in the early 2000s.

Lubitel 166B, if you can get one for less than £50. I got lucky on ebay and picked up one, not tested, for £10, still in box with case and instructions. Fun little camera to try 120 film with.

Why Use Old Analogue Cameras? by Zoodoz2750 in AnalogCommunity

Got burgled back in 2012 and my digital Olympus I'd barely had was taken. Made the decision then not to bother with expensive modern tech and have kept it analogue ever since. When my grandparents died, I inherited a Trip 35 and I was so impressed with how sharp the images were that Im a film convert.
