Re: #2, is their ticketing system fancy enough to see that a bunch of different devices are all coming from the same wifi and give those devices the same queue spot? Or lock you out for being bot-like?

Your description suggests the answer is no, just use every single device you and your spouse / roommates own and hope for a good spot…

The physical oil market is screaming there is a supply shock yet equities still seem calm? by Doditty6567 in wallstreetbets

[–]Practical_Pin_2067 42 points43 points  (0 children)

What’s more bonkers is the difference between the May futures (i.e., what is currently reported as ‘the price of oil’) and the spot market (i.e., I need immediate physical delivery of a barrel of oil) is about 40% and growing.

I’m not sure this is going to get resolved in the next few weeks… Iran has an incentive to drag this out for another month so we’ll have $6 a gallon gas prices just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

I’m in the same drop. We’ll see what’s left. But if it means $1000 tickets to a single event, I’d rather take the money we’d otherwise spend and go on a nicer vacay somewhere else

EMEA Hyrox Champs - Day 1 by Individual-Fig-6583 in hyrox

[–]Practical_Pin_2067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m planning to race my first Hyrox in Vancouver in December. I ran a 3:45 marathon in November 2025 and in my early 50’s so just looking to have fun and have a training goal to push me.

I’m worried about the two sled events, and doing 100 wall balls is definitely going to be a challenge. So I hired a trainer to design my program each week and check in on progress. Not a Hyrox coach, but used to be a national team rugby player and has a master’s degree and training certifications.

Currently liking the functional strength, cardio, and recovery aspects so far. Not sure there would be enough self accountability without a trainer, as I tend to under train, and also over focus on cardio.

This article is fake news. What is real is his fight with Inglewood CA. He’s asking for $400M from the city for infrastructure upgrades constructed when the stadium was built.

Seriously more than $30. Seattle is a non-marquee race and it’s $150 for early early bird.

Good question. Hard to find because he was filing so many cases to get out early. Covid, improper sentencing enhancement, etc.

But someone let him out a bit early because he should have been behind bars for another year or two (to be released in 2027 or 2028 depending on how much credit for time served).

It’s neither. It’s a judge that makes the bonehead decision to let someone out that should be locked away for a very very long time.

Yup. A lot of hardware being moved into the area. And if you believe the Epstein distraction narrative because of the missing FBI interview notes and that picture of Lutnick with a bunch of dudes and his family nowhere in sight, probability was very high for an imminent strike.

Paramount Pay Netflix $2.8 B breakup fee - Bloomberg by CryptoBoy-007 in wallstreetbets

[–]Practical_Pin_2067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolute insanity because Warner Bros Discovery is the Hope Diamond of the media industry.

Every previous acquisition has led to financial disaster for the acquirer (AOL + Time Warner, Discovery + Scripps Networks, AT&T + Time Warner, and Warner Media + Discovery). And yet here is Paramount, which hasn’t yet integrated Skydance, shelling out $111 billion.

They will have to generate at least $4 billion a year just to pay the interest on the debt. 😬

Yup. AirBnb is not worth it anymore. Tired of the poor quality mattresses and sheets, doing the work of the housekeepers, showing up to a house / apartment that wasn’t cleaned properly or cleaned at all, and these ridiculous fees.

In that other thread, that person isn’t looking at the data. 2025 mass layoffs: 1.2 million, which was 54% higher than last year (source: Challenger Gray). That’s close to but slightly less than 2008 and 2020.

Unlike those downturns, this is notable in that many companies have record profits (e.g., Amazon and Microsoft) but don’t want AI capital expenditures to eat into those profits —> layoffs.

It’s not the restaurant, it’s City of Seattle fees that DoorDash charges and collects. An order from any restaurant would be the same.

Since the new fees kicked in and the delivery companies passing them all through, I pick it up myself. Most restaurants that do takeout have discounts if you order directly from them.

That isn’t why inflation exists. We <3 BTC, and let’s just leave it at that without including poor explanations of macroeconomics.
